I just sat there, zoned out, and counted down the seconds until it was over when I regularly attended mass, so it might as well have been in a different language.

Catholic school education might be the worst investment ever in the history of investments.

I'm pretty sure you're not gonna be able to fool G_d that way. He may just shake His head at a group of Jews trying to find a loophole by using an Eruv, but what you're talking about is a lot more serious.

Anyway, good works won't get you into Heaven. Jesus died for your sins. It's already been taken care of. You just need to accept Him as your savior. Can you do that? Have you done it? G_d will know.

I can argue a lot of sides when it comes to religion. I understand the philosophies and if you haven't noticed I know the Bible reasonably well.

Two things that have always fascinated me are religion and advertising. And they're pretty much the same thing when you get right down to it.

Sometimes I hope it's Mormonism, because I'd like to have my own planet. Like anyone, I have some ideas.

That church absolutely fascinates me. A religion completely from and of America. Did you know their holiest ritual is to watch a PowerPoint?

Havent heard that. How does that work

There are two big temple rituals that are separate from going to church every Sunday: proxy-baptizing the dead, and the "endowment," which is when you practice going to heaven and saying the secret password and doing the secret handshake to get in. It's preceded by people putting on a little play about the creation of the universe and Adam and Eve and all that (it's not the way we learned it; they have their own bizarre cosmology), but only in the main temple in Salt Lake City. Because there aren't always enough actors to go around, the church started using a filmed version instead in all the other temples. Then, recently, the office decided the movie was too hard to dub into different languages, so they switched it to a PowerPoint.

So that's what they do in those big temples. They baptize dead people, watch a PowerPoint, do a secret handshake through a curtain, and then sit in a hotel lobby to contemplate. It's a very strange religion but it absolutely fascinates me, as do Christian Science and to a lesser extent the JWs and Adventists.

Caffeine is allowed. They drink gallons of Coke. The prohibition is against "hot drinks," which is coffee and tea, whether hot or cold, but not hot cocoa.

They're making up all this shit as they go along. It's best not to think about it too hard.

I learned recently about this place, which apparently is a successful franchise built on the Coke freestyle machine.

Why is a chain flavored pop restaurant successful? Mormons.

Without bars or cafes, they needed a third space, which is this place where they add coconut syrup to Dr Pepper.

I think he's referring to your quick turn on the central teachings of Martin Luther.
