The way he moved and the throws he made were impressive. It looks like we may have our QB of the future.

Absolutely. I have no need to see him again against scrubs. Can he repeat against first or second strings.

Well Sam Darnold might be a Luck/Manning-type prospect but I agree, the Bears in no way overdrafted (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I am pretty sure I provided evidence showing he had a superior post combine evaluation score to Mariotta and a similar one to QB drafted in the top five over the past decade or so.

He was not over drafted.

The trade may be open to scrutiny but the draft position is valid.

There are some other impressive QB as well.

If the Bears are in a position to draft one (which I do not think they will be), now they can trade the pick to a team in need and recoup all those picks lost on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky

If Trubiski went back to North Carolina, he would head and shoulders 1st overall pick. And the best prospect since Luck. Ryane Pasce got in on ground operations here.

Trubiski is a better prospect than Carson Wentz and likely will be better than all the QB prospects coming out in 2018. Say what you will about Pace, but he was playing chess in the draft while everyone else was playing checkers.

Might wanna do some more research on next year's class. That's a bold prediction

The GREAT SAM DARNOLD is 11-19 for 115 yards, 0TD's and 1 Pick vs college football powerhouse Wester Michigan.

Another bad FF sports thought.

I didn't mention even mention Darnold in my post. Saying (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is better than Wentz and will be better than all of next year's class is a pretty dumb prediction.

I'm pretty sure you really don't want to compare sports thoughts.

You declared him dead, and he's gone on to be a top 30 starter in baseball this year.

Top 30?

I said he was pretty much done, and since then he's gone on to have the worst season of his career. Take the L here and move on brother

I dunno, Lackey's has been way above expectations since the All Star break....

Bob's told me before fwar is all that matters so I'm using his criteria for this. Seems only fair to him.

He ranks 27th in all of baseball in terms of the most important metric for evaluating a pitcher

Bob's motto - fwar is all that matters until it doesn't, at which point it never did.

ALL STATS MATTER, and they all say Lackey's been an admirable #4 starter this year. Meeting expectations. Just take the 'L' and we all go home here.

What's a better stat to use for a pitcher - W/L or fwar? Just looking for some consistency from you. Shouldn't be too hard.

I think there are problems with fWAR for evaluating starting pitchers. I've been very open with this regarding Quintana. I've had the most bullish people on Quintana admit, at best he's a #2 starter. Yet, cumulative fWAR says Quintana is top 10 in all of baseball in terms of fWAR the past few seasons..so there is obviously a disconnect here. Sometimes you can confuse quantity with quality. Now what does Q do well..durable. He takes the ball every 5 days, pitchers 200 innings every year. Which has value. Much value. But there is something to be said, if even the big Q fans can't put him in as a #1 starter.

That's cool.

Now can I get an answer to my question?

All stats matter in the evaluation in a starter, and that evaluation says Lackey is a fine #4 starter. Final answer. You are welcome.

FF takes another brutal beating here, just hours after being unbanned. I feel bad here, I shouldn't have done that to "Fresh Meat"
