I do think the media gets people overly anxious about a lot of things, including the weather. Every body is different; one has to know their own and take care of it. I rode yesterday afternoon, ran this morning, and I'll probably ride later today. Just shorter and slower.

That said I do realize working outside (or inside in unconditioned spaces) on days like this can be extremely difficult if not impossible.

Apt description of a Caller Bob or someone who otherwise disparages those who shorten outdoor activities or opt to move them indoors during this type of weather.

I don't. But I would hope you realize this is the equivalent of Georgia getting 1 inch of snow and it's 20 degrees.

Down south it's over 90 every day with air as thick as the moss on the trees.

Currently, according to https://www.accuweather.com/

Macon, GA; Temp 92, the humidity is 42% and the dewpoint is 72°
Heat Index 98

Chicago, IL (60611); Temp 99, the humidity is 54%, and the dewpoint is 79°
Heat Index 114

Macon would almost feel like an air conditioned room compared to us right now.

Let's not do this Frank. It's two days. It's been a perfect summer temperature wise. The farmers are happier than a pig in shit with their tall green crops.

I'm not doing anything. To me, it doesn't matter if its two days or 50 days. I'm not going to speak bad about someone who chooses to not to partake in an outdoor activity in this weather. I respect their choice, and I genuinely feel for workers who have to spend 8-10-12+ hours in the elements on days like today. Same when its 0° in January. That's all.

Some people respect others, while some call them soft and want to lock a dog up in a car today. I'll gladly be the former, decent, smart person.

As long as you feel bad for those in Macon with a high of 97 today. But they don't. It's regular summer life to them.

It happens more often for them, but they are also under a Heat Advisory which calls for residents there to limit time outside and drink more water than usual.

I feel bad for those in Macon for plenty of reasons.

The AC going out Tuesday night was fun, got a bit toasty in the home before they got here this morning, apparently they are busy.. It's been a hay baling week. Thankfully the tractor AC was working better than the house.

Be careful down there, Macon. 764,000 tornadoes are expected tonight.

Fire at the Iowa State power plant today. Majority of campus AC is out, and no dining halls open. Bars will have to be cooling centers I guess.

I have several first time distance runners for Middle School Cross Country so we ran the (mostly ) air conditioned hallways yesterday (and will today too).

Man these kids are soft.

Right....I just give them the Junction Boys Treatment, toughen them up for race day...

We get a little rain today. Besides, the heat isn't that bad without the sun. I would go and enjoy a few beers.
