Well he did hit .230. That should be good enough for another promotion.

Well, He homered on the first pitch he saw yesterday.
Maybe He could lay hands on Sox relievers. Bring Him in on a one day trade/contract for any 1 Sox relief guy.

If the Mets are serious about bringing him up in September, they're going to need to send him to their AAA team for a few weeks. I believe that is in Las Vegas. It's 110 degrees in Vegas and the ballpark is up near the marginal neighborhoods north of the Downtown casinos.

Las Vegas has a new park. I think it's in Summerlin.

I respect DK Metcalf for what he did more than Tebow begging his college coach for another way into the shine again.

I know it's fun to hate Tim Tebow.

But, why? He's just a guy. Good..no, great...athlete. Seems to like people and does many things to help others.

Not a great QB. But a great college QB. Probably should have listened to everyone and had a solid NFL TE career but that's not what he wanted to do.

I like Tebow. I root for the guy.

If I ever got the sense from him that he felt entitled, I'd be out. But I don't get that from him. Am I missing something?

I don't hate Tebow, initially just his ALS, then his lack of perspective and then desperation to stay in the the spotlight to the detriment of actually talented players because some think he's a good story.

He uses his religion to further his career. Without it, he was Tommy Frazier.

Just like a televangelist, I also respect the effort.

Did he do that? Or did others?

Honest question. How did he do it?

Because his career didn't really get further than his talents allowed.

He probably never even QBs an NFL playoff game if that idiot Marion Barber had stayed in bounds.

He touched on it from his sophomore year on and goofs like Skip Bayless and ESPN have run with it since. It's been symbiotic.

It's just because he's Pro-Life, right?

He's not the first athlete to use his platform to promote his viewpoints.

Again, I go back to, he's just a guy. I don't really get the level of hatred that he seems to inspire.

Of course it did. Everyone knew he couldn't play QB in the NFL out of college. Yet he was drafted as one in the first round. Chris Leak, who also wasn't going to be an NFL QB was undrafted. He then got another shot with the Jets and failed pretty miserably. He then got to be below average on College Gameday and then he got to walk into a minor league spot with the Mets and now he gets another chance at the NFL after not playing in it for nearly 10 years.

It's hard to imagine that if he was just "random no name guy" he's getting that type of a career. It's his story that keeps on giving him these chances and that story was cultivated by him and his family in college. It's not like sideline reporters and announcers were doing serious investigative journalism into what he was doing as a 12 year old in Africa.

I can name a huge amount of people who were just as good as him at the game of football(and baseball, and on tv) who didn't get the chances he did though.

Even if you are saying it's because he won a Heisman I have a long list of people who disappeared quickly after it.

Tebow is arguably in the conversation for greatest college football player of all time.

Sure, and that doesn't get you anything of the things I've mentioned besides maybe some of the tv stuff but you still have to be good at it or you go away quickly. Even Joe Montana got half a year and he "retired".

It’ll probably get you that TV gig and the backup role on the Jets. You may have a point about baseball.
