I was hoping for a better stock reaction. But they raised their dividend, and the stock should slowly climb. Based on 2017 guidance, the stock is really cheap. I'll collect my 5% dividend yield while the stock climbs above $50 in 2017.

What's the next stock pick from the Seer of Sleepy Hallow (formerly Schaumburg).

denisdman is easily one of my favorite posters on this site, even if I disagree with him about a great MANY things.

Well, this one comes from the dividend, dumpster bin. I think it has a good chance of a sharp rebound even as the underlying business is in decline. It reports next week. It is called Frontier Communications (FTR). They continue to pay a silly high dividend, which is usually a bad sign. It looks sustainable to me, and I think they are going to get their cost cutting program in line. It is a much higher risk play than KSS, but I like it at its current price. If things turn as I expect, you have a potential two to three bagger all while getting paid to hold it.

HOWEVER, there is a distinct chance it keeps sliding. And it will dive if management ever decides to cut the dividend.

Keep in mind, the entire market is trading at silly values. There is a decent chance the whole things pulls back significantly. These are a few of my value plays.

Frontier just reported.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data ... dex991.htm

After market did not like it. If I had to guess, the proposed reverse stock split will weigh on the shares. The market never likes reverse splits. They're also still struggling to integrate the Verizon fixed line customers. Dividend looks sustainable. Customer attrition is a problem and revenue per customer also down. Just not sure what to make of this company. How long will a stock trade at this high of a dividend yield?

I own a few shares as a result of the spinoff. I guess I will soon be owning even fewer shares

I'd never make an investment based on after hours movements. But in reading the release, I suspect tomorrow's movement will be negative. I still feel the stock is spring loaded for a good bounce. You just never know when those bounces will come. I have been unimpressed with every earnings release since I owned the stock.

It's a decent entry point.

I wake up this morning and my piddly little shares in Frontier jumped up $15. Is this a dead cat bouncing, or something real? The fellow in the link below thinks the former.

Doctor Ken may find this interesting... Word in the Illinois Valley is that JC Penney and Sears are closing in the Peru Mall. That mall was the place to go on a weekend with your crew to hang out especially in winter months. That leaves Bergner's and Marshall's the only big retailers left in the mall.

Spiral, reverse share split. FTR is an embarrassment. My apologies.

I've almost never gone to that mall except to the movies. Did go to Sears years ago and it looked like it was closing back then. Bergeners seems to be hanging on all over the place out here.

I forgot about the theaters - they just got taken over by the AMC chain... 8 screens I think? There's a Payless, Spencer's, Bath & Body, Buckle, GMC, Victoria's Secret, etc. Many middle to large stores but most of the big anchors are gone. My dad loved Montgomery Wards and I swear he cried when they closed.

Not sure on screens. Saw both the recent starwars movies there though. Think there is an arcade there.
