Took her in and Dr. opened up and found three places not healing like the should. Sewed her up and now hoping for the best. All good so far. She is in great spirits and home now and all looking good for now. She was a ball of fire last night on the meds she was on. High as a kite. All the staff were laughing with her. God she is a trooper. Recovery took about an hour from surgery to room. Discharged at 1130 this morning. Thanks all.

Hollie was having MRI's done for headaches and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. On March 10th of 2017 she went in for her tumor removal. Once the test results came back on March 24th she was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. She was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Astrocytoma tumor. After meeting with the Radiation Oncologist we discovered that only 50% to 70% was removed because of the type of tumor and the small blood vessels that are running through it. The next step they recommend is radiation followed by chemotherapy. Radiation will be five days a week for six weeks. All of this was supossed to start April 17th, but she ran into complications, therefore, causing her to have another surgery. Hollie went in for emergency surgery April 5th to help seal the incision. The incision was leaking fluid and it needed to be drained and reclosed from the inside and outside. We have gotten back the results and there was traces of a bacteria growing but she is being treated for it. She will meet with the Cancer Oncologist on April 12th to get a clearer picture of the path for Chemotherapy.

The family is planning a benfit to help ease the burden of costs for treatments, appointments, and other expenses. On June 24th, 2017 at the Knoxville Legion there will be a benefit for her. There will be a live and silent auction, food, raffle tickets for half a hog, a bake sale, and free-will donations.
