Those hypocrites should work on themselves before they worry about me. It's not her folks, but some of the aunts and uncles. After my mother in law had a serious stroke, and could no longer babysit the young kids, the phone stopped ringing. Meanwhile, we moved her into our house, so her last years could be as comfortable as possible. But, they judge me. As if her death last year wasn't hard enough on my wife and her brother, these goofs trying to hijack wake/funeral arrangements was the icing on the cake. My mother in law had not practiced in two decades, and told us her wish was to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, she wanted people to donate to the Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Network. She was a kidney transplant survivor. So, this was the plan. They didn't care. They insisted on a whole production at their church, presumably to show off for the others. When she was here, they couldn't be bothered to take her out to lunch once in a while, or even pick a phone to see how she was doing. Now that she is gone, they are interested in her. But, they judge me. It took every fiber of my being to keep my mouth shut during all of this. I did so for my wife. The last thing she needed was more drama. It's not all about me. Unfortunately, everybody does not share that opinion.



I am very comfortable saying that I don't know something. I couldn't imagine living life as if knew more, or was somehow more enlightened, than everybody else. That takes some major arrogance.

I would like to apologize to GD and anybody else not named Chas (who made my point for me), who was offended by what I said. I certainly could have been a bit more delicate there.

The larger point was a lot of weddings are boring as shit. This one was fun from the minute I got there, until the minute I left. I even had sexy time romance when I got home, so it was a homerun all around.
