This is a quality rant, in regard to Chris Sale and the Red Sox throwing at him.

Quote:
Fucking bullshit. Fucking bullshit coward stuff. That’s stuff that you don’t fucking do. But I’m not on that side, I’m not in that organization. They’re still thinking about that same slide that I did that was no intention on hurting anybody and I’m still paying, I’m still trying to get hit at. Getting thrown at my fucking head, getting fucking thrown at everywhere. It’s fucking bullshit. I’ve lost mad respect for that organization, for that coaching staff, for everyone over there.

[...]

Pitchers out there with fucking balls in their hands, throwing 100 mph trying to hit people. And I’ve fucking got a bat too. I could go out there and crush somebody if I wanted to. But you know what, I’d get suspended for a year and the pitcher only gets suspended for two games. That’s not cool.

He should accidentally hit the catcher with his bat trying to swing.

I think the idea that Chris Sale was a clubhouse problem is bullshit. He has always willingly had the backs of his teammates. It is administration that found him difficult and projected onto his teammates. It would be like the teacher thinking her pet was the most popular kid at the school.

There has to be some type of order. If he wasn't following the Manager, he might of been a problem. Chris Sale is not operating with a full deck. I still would want him on the Sox but I think his return in value will be better.

I don't recall Sale being a headhunter of particular note.

Once a week Addison has the bat slip out of his hands during a swing. Just send it flying at the pitcher. At this point Manny is justified an any retaliation he wants. Next time I hope he walks around the bases talking shit the entire way.

The problem was Ventura. I bet Sale would have been happy to fall in line with Renteria's more disciplined clubhouse and soothing spanish

ex White Sox Dave Philly would get even with pitchers throwing at his head by later on swinging and missing and letting the bat fly out of his hands toward the pitcher. I don't think he had to do this too many times.

I remember him from 1957 season when I went to my first game with my dad at Cominsky Field.

Takes a lot of balls to throw at someone knowing you never have to bat yourself.

I am soothed by his Spanish.

At the end of the day, a sane person does not cut up 25ish jerseys before a baseball game.

I like Sale but im officially on Team Orioles in this one. The ump in tonight's game just tosses the O's pitcher for accidentally hitting Bogearts with a curveball and still no repercussion for sale intentionally throwing at manny

Because head-hunting, as stupid and dangerous as it is, is like strategic arms: use it or lose it. The O's have already lost the initiative, and the Sawx (or Sale on his own) using theirs have taken away the ability of the O's to respond in kind.

Sale didn't head hunt . He threw behind him mid-back. The dude last week was the head hunt pitch.

I was trying to think of a catch-all phrase for the whole thing. Settled on head-hunting despite it not exactly describing Sale's actions. Simply calling it "hunting" may have been confusing.

But the Orioles weren't responding. It was clearly accidental. That's why the MLB tonight guys were barbequeing the ump over tossing the pitcher

Were both benches warned before the game? I thought that usually happens in situations like this?

Looks like Manfred issued a warning pre-game:
