It's great when rich philanthropists give back to you community.

I think Laurence is a good guy whose heart is usually in the right place when he acts.

Except for when he is in an elevator.

Yeah, but Laurence tried to bait them with a liberal view: he asked what they think of random people that "thank them for their service." This is something typically right-leaning people do--buy a guy in uniform a drink at a bar, for example.

What he wanted: "unwanted' unneeded' unnecessary."

What he got from retired servicemen: "I always appreciated it. Now I buy young guys in uniform breakfast or drinks (specifically noting Great Lakes guys)."

Larry: ignore comment, move on to next topic

Or the hallway.

I do find it hilarious that he puts on his tough guy persona (which is fake) when he really is just a comic book nerd in reality. I'd have more respect for him if he just lived up to that since it's what he truly is.

If he embraced his true nerd self, he'd be a lot better to listen to. He's the son of a professor. He was raised to be a nerd and should embrace that persona since it isn't a facade like his tough guy act.

But I wouldn't approve of that persona. You should know better.

The only act he performed in either of those instances was radio theater

This week I obtained the following email, which Steve Harvey sent to his staff at the start of the current season:

Good morning, everyone. Welcome back.

I’d like you all to review and adhere to the following notes and rules for Season 5 of my talk show.

There will be no meetings in my dressing room. No stopping by or popping in. NO ONE.

Do not come to my dressing room unless invited.

Do not open my dressing room door. IF YOU OPEN MY DOOR, EXPECT TO BE REMOVED.

My security team will stop everyone from standing at my door who have the intent to see or speak to me.

I want all the ambushing to stop now. That includes TV staff.

You must schedule an appointment.

I have been taken advantage of by my lenient policy in the past. This ends now. NO MORE.

Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly. Either knock or use the doorbell.

I am seeking more free time for me throughout the day.

Do not wait in any hallway to speak to me. I hate being ambushed. Please make an appointment.

I promise you I will not entertain you in the hallway, and do not attempt to walk with me.

If you’re reading this, yes, I mean you.
