Though I'm still concerned for his long-term health...

And if he was fine all along, then a "Douchebag of the Week" nomination needs to go to WWE for holding Bryan back from being able to compete.

At what age do you guys actually expect to grow out of this wrestling thing?

Compete for what? It's a scripted show.

So what's the prevailing theory on all this: Was Bryan's "concussion issues forcing retirement" angle just a work from the start, and if so, to what end? Is his return now just a work that won't ever be paid off, or are they going to get one bump-free match from him at Mania before his contract expires?

Not a work.

He says he has been going to specialists for 2 years and they've all told him he's cleared to work. The WWE guys hadn't signed off until yesterday.

Oh, so one of those times where the guy can just go out and tell the truth, like an actual shoot?

Don't work yourself into a shoot, brother. Why the hell would they hold back one of the most over guys on the roster at the time? Because they don't like money?

A worked-shoot really ... he did have a few bulletpoints to get across (e.g., saying he'll work WM, then I guess he got beat up later which sets up the heat for the match that happens, whatever it is), but I'd say that for the most part it was ad lib which, for the love of God, I wish the office would let those that can do so more often.

Because sometimes, Vince is just going to Vince.

It's pretty clear the only reason he was on the shelf this long was some combination of asscovering by the WWE as a result of CTE lawsuits and protection of main event storylines that fans would want Bryan a part of. The WWE's own doctor was literally the only person who wouldn't clear Bryan, while allowing guys like Kurt Angle and Tommy Dreamer to continue to work.

It will be interesting to see if he re-signs in September. Everyone figured he was on his way out when he wasn't being cleared, but even though he is now, he could still make nearly as much money on the indie circuit and/or NJPW. I wouldn't be surprised if WWE doesn't even put dream matches like Nakamura and Styles on the table unless and until he re-signs.

Terrible thought.

Vince wants to make money. Daniel Bryan was money. As DT said he was the most over guy on the roster. Dude was tearing it up and the fans were bought in completely.

In some ways they have never recovered from Bryan having to step away during such a big run.

Oddly, outside of politics I’ve found myself agreeing with PM more and more lately. On the other hand, my support of speeps (despite his defection) is really starting to wane.

Wow pittmike thinks wrestling is stupid.

Who knew?!?

I mean he has only shared this opinion like 600 times.

If you dont like something then ignore those threads.

Simple enough
