For all the NIU folks on here...no more sneaking one hitters in the Otto's bathroom. I had a lot of fun in that place in the 90's.

Ottos was great. $4 32oz beers and they usually booked some great bands there.

Saw Snoop Dog there in 2002. About 15 minutes into the show he claims someone threw a bottle cap at him and walked off stage.

Gene Ween played a set here right before rehab. Kinda surprised there wasn't an incident ala Great White at this place.

Another great Dekalb location. One of the best pizzas I've ever had.

Many good times had at this place in my college years. Really went down hill the last 6 or 7 years before it closed. Seen my brother and a few friends perform on the main stage. Def roasted a bowl or two up in the balcony seating.

Btw, Lord Stanley's is the quintessential college town dive bar. The World Famous pizza they serve is outstanding.

One of my younger brothers saw Brother Ali perform there. Apparently, Ali was right at the front of the stage rapping to the crowd, and someone punched him in the dick. Like, why are you coming to the show if you're just gonna punch the headliner in the nuts? Fucking DeKalb.

Saw Local H twice there. Great venue to get blackout drunk and completely forget why you went there.

If the beer nuggets are over done at all they aren't good. Also, leftover beer nuggets are awful, but fresh still hot and chewy beer nuggets are one of the best too-drunk-need-some-sobriety foods I've ever had.

This description is applicable to the entire city of Dekalb.

Does anybody remember the bong shop across the street that was open in the mid 90's? It was called Cool Stuff.

My ex chick attended Northern During the late 90's early 2000's. Used to make the run quite a bit back then and I remember some dive bar that used to have $1 beer Wednesdays. Can't remember the exact name of the place but it was the spot on Wednesdays.

I do. And I remember how "controversial" it was. It's funny, now you can't go into a gas station without seeing pipes for sale.

Amex had $2.95 pitchers Sunday thru Thursday. We went there almost every night and played pool or darts. They had a window to a burrito joint called San Marcos and we'd always get one to go at the end of the night. Still the best burrito I've had.

A few of us went there one day to buy something. As soon as I walked down the stairs where the bongs were, I saw several cops down there. I turned around, and went right back upstairs.

I had no idea there were so many NIUers out there...I was at Otto's twice, and it was really going downhill. They got lucky the pipes leaked above Duckys and ruined the whole thing, getting them out of their lease...

It's going to be luxury apartments now...I drove by it yesterday.

"Luxury" apartments is a silly name for a living space 30ft away from train tracks.
