I can be inside most of the day, so more of a "stats nerd" thing for me, but a 50 year old living in Chicago has only lived through 23 days of 100+ in their life. 7 of those were in 1 summer ('98), and 4 others in one week ('12).

A 23 year old has only seen five 100 degree days, with 4 of them in 1 week.

This recent heat wave is all about the humidity. Dewpoints at or near 80 is something we rarely see here. Couple that with some of the smog/smoke we've had and its easy for anybody with a brain to understand why its so miserable and can be downright dangerous to be outside for a number of hours at a time.

The dewpoints/humidity have been awful down here. We have had to move outdoor sports practices until after 6pm and when you get done you are still absolutely drenched in sweat. Next week is going to seem like a cold front with 80s
