Cantigny Park hosted a "League of Their Own" 25th anniversary event on Saturday.

So the McCormick House was used for a few scenes in "A League of Their Own", including the courtyard scene where Harvey offers Jimmy (Hanks) his job.

From 6-8p there was an open house where you could walk through the mansion, look through the shooting script/schedule/contract; and then around 8:30p, they put a screen outside in the field and showed the full movie. You could bring chairs, food/beverages (alcohol too), and they tossed out some bean bag baseballs for kids. They hired a group of women to dress up as players, and took pictures with fans.

Great time, even a little chilly at nightfall. Good crowd, everybody was into it.

FItzgerald's main room on Roosevelt in Berwyn/Oak Park also featured in League of Their Own. I believe the yooge American flag that regularly features as the backdrop to Fitzgerald's stage is a leftover from the film production.

THink it also got converted to a pool hall for scenes in The Color of Money.

Were there women in the men's room timing how long you peed?
