I don't think so, but he probably at least thought it.

Probably about as long as someone used "singles hitter" as a put down for a 30 home run a year guy.

Is 30 home runs impressive or not?

Not really.

Abreu had 3 more homeruns than Schwarber in 200 more at bats. Rick must be disappointed

Schwarber isn't a "singles hitter" either.

He actually did say it to me. That is, he implied it. He kind of gave me that look--you know that look Dr. Ken's got--and in that look, he said that Abreu would lead the league in TB.

Of course, he might have meant consumption.

Abreu had 100 more hits, an OPS nearly 120 points higher, slugging percentage nearly 100 points higher, and a WAR that was 4.7 higher than the mighty Schwarbs! But Schwarber did have more HRs than Abreu in the minor leagues!

The last part is poor advice. Don't do it.

Unless you're trying to get rid of the hiccups. Might be overkill but..

Honestly, Abreu is really more of a doubles hitter than a singles hitter.

He is a good hitter. If you have Abreu over Rizzo, you're only sacrificing the smallest amount of offensive.

Nope.

2017 Abreu had a higher avg, OPS, and OPS+. He also had a higher WAR and considering that Rizzo is better with the glove than Abreu, clearly Abreu had the FAR SUPERIOR season at the plate.

I don't judge a player based on one season. From 2014-2017, Rizzo has a .030 higher OPS. Abreu had the better offensive 2017 though. I'd still take Rizzo going forward.

Abreu put up numbers when the Sox were long out of the race. He blew to start the season.

Sell high.

Caller Bobesque.

Altuve is better than 98% of MLB including the entire Cubs and Sox roster. The only guy in town I might take over him is Giolito. Way to pat yourself on the back for going out onto a 4' diameter tree limb.

Now we know why. Apologies from IMU forthcoming.

Pretty sad to attack a man because he is respectful toward his wife.
