Visiting some friends in central Illinois last weekend and we went to the Lasalle-Peru McDonald's. I was prepared for a piece of shit but it was one of the best McDonald's I've been to. Blew Oak Brook and the Dekalb Oasis out of the water. If you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods, give the McNuggets a try.

How does it compare to Casey's gas station pizza?

Somebody with the Twitters should let Pat Mannelly know so he can add it to his list of best "road game" stops.

Never know when the Snapper might make his way down here for Rip's Chicken.

Damn, I miss Lanuti's.

Loved waiting in line drinking beers for 3 hours on Wednesday nights waiting for Rip's Chicken. So good!

I don't know if it makes me sadder to know that travelers got that close to Rip's and ate at McDonald's or that it took almost two pages for someone to mention it.

Throw in a suggestion for Ron's Cajun Connection outside of Utica if it is still there. Haven't been out that way in a few years.

If that place was open when I was a kid it would have been the closest restaurant to my house and I'd be 500 lbs today.

It certainly is. I haven't eaten there in years, but it was always great. My friend used to host a Turducken every year, and he would order it from Cajun Connection.

Was looking at it on line. Looks good but couldn’t convince the wife.
