I have spent next to no time in the entire state of Texas. I did go to a wedding in some small, agricultural town outside of Lubbock. It was a strange community populated by people who had immigrated from Germany. Many still spoke German to each other. They wore jeans with big belt buckles to the wedding.

I never liked Schiavone, no one did, but that's what makes him so good now: you finally see him not as an over-the-top pitchman who calls everything a sidewalk slam but as this poor put-upon shlub who had to work for this terrible organization usually churning out a terrible product, who knew as well as we did how crappy WCW was (at least when they weren't falling ass-backwards into success based on Hogan, Hall, and Nash telling everyone how crappy WCW was). I feel bad that he never got to work for the Atlanta Braves after Skip and Pete infield-fly-ruled off this mortal coil; the Braves seem to be his passion above all else, and for all the shit he got, he actually was good announcer when he had the chance.
