ChEW EE is going to go to WASHINGTONG take care of the $300 million deficit in next year's city budget, or the $550 million balloon payment to the police and fire pension funds, or the nearly $30 billion in unfunded obligations for the five pension funds for city workers and teachers? CHEWER'S got this one with no problem! he will solve these issues with MORE POLICE PRESENCE , LESS KILLINGS and OPEN MORE SCHOOLS ! That will take care of these issues! |

You don't have to dig too deeply to find opposition research on Luis. FALN, bargain price purchases on new developments that he then flips at market rate, etc...and that is the easy and open items. I have no knowledge of it but I have a feeling "what's in it for him" is avoidance of an uncomfortable situation. Anyway, Rahm has secured a lot of chits in minority communities in the years since the Mc Donald shooting with appointments like Summers and Valencia. I don't think he is going to get a mainstream assault. I'd expect his opponent to be someone from the progressive caucus. |

It's really pretty amazing what we get as elected officials in this city. Can anyone name a measure Chuy Garcia has EVER implemented? No one even voted for him as mayor. They voted against Rahm. Now he has somehow parlayed not being Rahm into a congressional seat. This definitely deserves the shoutout and good for Chuy but ooofah the things that happen. |
