The Intermarché in Caen felt like Poland or something. Hell, even Krakow or Gdansk is more advanced. I don't think a self respecting Frenchman steps foot in one and I am ON RECORD saying this already.

Ahhh Normandy's greatest town is Granville. Right between Mt St Michel and Omaha. Great galettes and perhaps the best oyster fishing on the planet. You can buy fresh off the boat at high tide (harbor is not accessible at low tide) but good luck finding vinegar.

A great slice of France. Perfectly Norman.
