No you shouldn't since he already identified Dalton as his QB for 2021.

If you only wanted Pace to be concerned about 2021 you should have fired him.

Yeah, KD's first statement says it all.
If he's your GM....he has to have the full power of being the GM. If not, fire his ass. We're all in agreement that's what they should have done, but we're not in control

I wholly disagree. George made 2021 into a "prove it" year for Nagy-Pace. That means they shouldn't have been allowed to trade away 2022 assets to pick a player who didn't figure into their plan for 2021.

In a "prove it" year, the owner should have handcuffed Pace from making moves he thinks improves the franchise? That's an interesting take.

Graduated last weekend. Good for him, always thought it was cool when athletes complete their degree.

This continues to be the most backwards franchise in the NFL.

Let the GM you are likely going to fire in 2022 trade up to draft your franchise quarterback in 2021. Identify your head coaching finalists prior to hiring a new GM. Then hire a team president to oversee the GM and head coach that he didn't hire. It would be difficult to find a professional sports team that more vividly embodies the concept of organizational disarray than the Chicago Bears.

Hm. Possibly, but I implore you to consider the White Sox with regard to your last sentence.

This seems like an odd statement to come in a thread bumped for Fields graduation.

Did something else happen? I don't disagree at all with your statement, just wondering what let to it.

I think he's going to have a great season even with the lack of WRs.

Easy schedule, they gonna win like 13 games this year.

Didn't people claim the Bears had an easy schedule last year? Then the teams they played (i.e. Jets, Giants, Lions) got good and it turned into a difficult schedule? But yes the Bears being bad helped

The Bears were like 10 plays away from being something like 7-10. Still bad but just shows you how games often come down to the ball bouncing the right way.

Wasn’t there some stat how the Bears had like seven or eight chances to win games on their final drive and Fields didnt lead them down the field to score ?

I thought the Bears schedule was supposed to be the most difficult last year given travel & game times.

I can remember at least three times where the end of those drives could be put squarely on St. Brown or Pettis. Those guys won't be in those situations next year.

And the drive where Marsette fumbled as well.

Yep, a few brutal drops that could have swung the result the other way. There was also the Mooney bobble/catch against Washington. At the same time, Fields took some sacks/failed in other late game situations as well. But he also did deliver the ball - those drops are on the WRs and on Poles, which is why he reached into his pockets to buy a WR mid-season.

Check your own posting history. I'm sure you mentioned it more than once.

Fields could win the Super Bowl this year and you would be all "Yeah but whaddabout week 3 where he threw a pick in the 4th quarter and the Bears lost !!" at the same time the Bears were parading down Michigan Avenue with the Lombardi trophy. You want Fields to fail and we all know why.

To me, the guy who should be under the big pressure is the Offensive Coordinator, closely followed by the Defensive coordinator. THey have majorly improved their roster and need to quickly develop these guys. I expect a 6-6 record after 12 games and at least 3-5 finish. 9-8 seems reasonable to expect for a Bear's fan.

You forgot to add Poles interviewed his boss.

I'm optimistic they got the front office and coach right this time.

Sounds like the problem's been resolved. In fact it apparently was never a Fields problem to begin with. MVP! MVP!
