It was also kind of dumb to let them try and score from the 12. There are still things that can happen from that far out that make a field goal not a full gone conclusion. Try and strip the ball or try and draw a false start penalty. That's why they didn't just kneel down.

On the two yard line you let them score because it's like 99% they are going to hit that field goal.

Hauling him into the end zone might have been tough, but they did have a real shot at shoving him out of bounds if they pursued. That would given the Eagles an extra 40 seconds to try and get a last second field goal to tie.

There was nothing the Eagles could do there to stop any of that from happening. Once he got through the line the only hope they had was for him to have a brain freeze.

Hurts was the best player on the field last night, no doubt about it.
