I only found it odd that the news is seeming to try and present it as another targeted mass shooting, specifically because Juneteenth instead of what sounds like violence that escalated to multiple suspects shooting at people involved in a argument/fight

Its odd because especially when it comes to the gang shootings in chicago, most would qualify as a mass shooting by definition, but are never reported as such and yet this one is and I think the Juneteenth is being used as a crutch to make people think it was hate related and targeted.

A family gathering leads to an alcohol fueled fight where guns are drawn and/or fired is certainly not something that is unique to African Americans. I can't imagine that is what Bob means by irony though.
