I absolutely detest driving around my kids school at drop off/pick up times. I would say probably 80% of the moms I see driving the big ole SUV have their Cell Phone glued to their ear. I have almost got hit by them in my car several times because they are so busy chit chatting that they are not paying attention. Sadly some kid is going to get hit eventually.

that's why when i volunteer i get there after school starts as i have seen some of those moms. They have a no cell phone in school zone sign up and some have been caught if the cop is out there or if the crossing guard catches them.

You can always tell to watch out for the 'trophy wives' and moms driving SUV's. It isn't the small SUV's either...those are usually okay. Its the Armadas, the Pilots, the Landcruisers, the 4Runners, the Tahoes, the Escalades, the Flex's...

You stay the hell away from those on the road.

But you don't have to stay away from some stupid hatchback with a huge exhaust with some 19 year old kid wearing a backwards, upside down visor and oakleys cranking house music?

I used to drive a GMC Jimmy. Loved it. Right now I'm in a car, but my next move will be to either a Santa Fe or a Sorento. But I also can't stand minivan drivers or women in super-sized SUV's...and anyone in a Prius.

You seem to be thinking of like...riced out hatch Civics or something. If people are putting fartcans on a true hot hatch, I'll make fun of them right along side you. While I will be getting a new high-flow turboback when I upgrade the turbo, it is because it is necessary for performance. It will also be a catted downpipe, with a suitcase muffler. I.E. no ridiculous drone at idle and cruising RPM's.

To respond to your content though, I'd rather be by a punk kid that can at least handle his car and pay attention while driving, rather than some oblivious woman (no offense) who is trying to balance 5 different tasks while driving a vehicle too large for her.

Do you deliver for Jimmy John's?

Cookie, the South Koreans are starting to make fantastic cars these days. Either should serve you well. I just like the stylings of the newer Sportages...for an SUV anyways.

I'd need to see it. I have looked at those as well, and if there's enough room and the price/mileage is right, then I can do that too. I usually go to the auto show every year to do all of my research at once instead of going from place to place to get the feel of the vehicles.

Start at the 1:00 mark, he smokes a Mustang GT, 11.87 1/4 mile. Hard to make fun of that.

Unless you race the fucking car, it makes you look like a complete joke. His ass would be sitting right next to a Chevy Volt on 90/94 at 5 PM just like anyone else.

Well the next time one of you "spirited" hatchback drivers cuts me off because your superior maneuverability apparently grants you the right to zip in front of me, because I've left six feet between me and the car in front of me, I'm running you over in my Pilot.

...Yes, I am going to track the car and race it.

How about you start thinking before you post some more, big guy? Your assumptions are unbecoming.

However, besides that - yes, I like to drive spiritedly when I'm on roads as well. And the good news is I don't have to use expressways during rush hour based on where I live and work.

No, I am right on in my general assessment that unless someone races a car, driving around in a suped up douche-rocket makes you look like a joke.

Congrats on actually racing the car.

If he picked a better topic we could all (most of us) get behind it. But really? Hatchbacks? He's gonna be alone on that one every time.

But he's doing it just for the negative reaction. There are better (and easier) ways to spark conversation around here. The back and forth just gets tiresome...

This is negated by this:

More issues are caused but people having "a little fun" than during rush hour.

My advice would be to contain your fun to the track. The expressway, no matter how empty, isn't the place to open the throttle up a bit.

...And I envision IMU's weekend going something like the following, except his car wouldn't be quite as cool and there obviously wouldn't be a chick in it. Once again, IMU is not the Asian driver in this scenario:

Based on the personality traits of the character in that movie, I would say there's an obvious parallel, although IMU is apparently an emaciated little fella, not porcine (except, of course, from a metaphorical perspective).
