I heard on ESPN Radio or something it was Baker's fault.

The Sox May schedule consists of four with the Cubs. Don't get too excited about three wins against a team that can't score.

The Sox look decent, but their pitching is too thin to make the playoffs this year.

I bet it has been a while since consecutive Sox GMs won Executive of the Year awards during their time with the team

Except that dolphin is basing his analysis on actual current MLB performance rather than minor leaguers who might or might not bring good things to the MLB club years and/or months down the road.

Try again.

Hahn's done a great job. He looks like a solid GM who knows how to build a team within a budget.

No need to try again. First time was correct.

He's calling a team one game over .500 a contender and his reasoning is an allegedly tough schedule.

That is rose colored no matter what.

And as per usual, you bring the Cubs into a conversation about the Sox

You are aware that as of today, the White Sox are tied for the wild card right?

You are getting on dolphin for saying that a team currently tied for the wild card is a contender for the wild card.

You are aware that things kinda sort themselves out thru the season?

I only ask because you keep acting as if today is late Sept

And Im only doing to dolphin, what he would undoubtedly be doing if a Cub fan spoke those words and you know that's true.

I don't think it would be very impressive if dolphin were to say that the Sox are a contender for the wild card if they are tied for the wild card in September.

Just tell him he's wrong and the Sox won't be wild card contenders and then bump it and mock him for being an idiot.

Be accurate. He called them a contender for the Wild Card. Not the division or the WS, but the Wild Card. According to today's standings, that is 100% true.

I will point out that even the most optimistic of preseason predictions by Sox fans here on the board was for a .500 team. That was laughed at by a lot of Cubs fans. It looks as though the Sox have the talent to be a .500 club. If they play over that, they could absolutely get a play in WC.

 The sox aren't sniffing the division or the wildcard , I don't give a shit what the record is the first week of May. To think otherwise is absolute homerism or baseball retarded . THis team won't crack 86 wins...this is the A.L. ...slow down , the Sox just beat up on a very bad baseball team

No they're not. They stink, have stunk, and will stink. Moustakas is a bust of Beckhamian proportion or worse. Hosmer is Mark Grace Light. No good. Why is it fashionable to say the Royals are good every year before they suck again as always? I suspect it's the same guys who think the Lions are going to win the Super Bowl before every season.

Lots of young decent hitters who might be great, but probalby not.

They did win 84 or something last year didnt they?

I fear the Cubs will follow the Royals path

The Royals and Pirates have sucked for twenty years, while stockpiling high draft picks the entire time.

And they haven't made the playoffs since 1985.

Good point. Those two loser squads have been doing The Theo Plan for a long time before Theo was learning Microsoft Excel. It's a cautionary tale and one that is fraught with ever more danger now that Theo is cash strapped, lacking roid heads and is without his oldet baseball babysitters.

So what you're saying is that if you operate in a manner similar to the Royals...

...you will get results similar to the Royals?

Crane Kenney's hired goons are going to come to your door (in baseball pants, natch) and take care of you before you can further disseminate that The Plan is a bunch of bullshit, especially when you have no pitchers.

I can't comment on what happened in the past 2 decades on K.C or Pittsburgh , new G.M.s ...new talent , more revenue to hold onto stars...K.C. is better defensively , better rotation n pen...they will win more games than the Sox...n The Royals aren't even gonna get a W.C. spot.
