The world needs more Lorde, and less talentless hacks like Miley Cyrus.

Two great tastes that taste great together.

Agreed. Lorde is for the world.

Ingrid Michaelson, on the other hand, is the official artist of aspirationally artsy bougie white girls.

She's ok. You could do much much worse if you want to rip female pop artists.

As somewhat of a laymen with pop music, I'm typically exposed to these talentless hacks that get all the pub. It's nice to hear someone who seems to have gotten her pub through actual musical talent.

I find the fact that she calls her fans "dickheads" on twitter refreshingly punk rock.

I actually enjoy some of Ingrid's stuff and have seen her perform but I saw her play on Conan a few
weeks ago pushing her new album, and she now has some artsy ink on her forearm so I think
you nailed this one on the head CH.

Oh, she definitely has a good song or two, but there's a certain type of girl who reliably identifies as liking Ingrid Michaelson. Seems to be big with nice girls from the heartland who get out of their one-stoplight hometowns and finally get to seem urbane. Think yoga pants, kale chips, Zadie Smith books, tiny little tattoos that say "Believe" that Mom and Dad probably won't notice.
