Nice that he got drafted and was open sharing his day with his BF and family/friends. But the comments bug me. Louis Nix fell to third round so don't play the i should have been drafted earlier card. You were what you were.

He should not have been picked in the top 3 rounds. If he did not come out as gay he would still not be in the top 3 rounds. He fell in the draft because of his workouts and analysis by the experts.

A lot of good players in college do not get drafted in the top rounds or even drafted at all.

I got so sick of hearing about him during the draft. Hopefully he gets cut from the Rams soon and we never have to hear anymore about him

I hope one of his new teammates also comes out as gay and they start the first locker room workplace relationship in professional sports...marriage ceremony before one of their sunday night football games...

Just to annoy you. :)

They can do whatever they want I just do not need to have to hear about it 18 times while watching the NFL draft.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe General Mills (salute) had a new cereal.

Hey. When did it become open season on me? Shoutout for him. Now I am done with it so lets move along. Probably a bigger deal if potential 1st pick in draft did this.

I still have no idea who the shoutout is for...

So Mills signifies that? I guess I missed that.

Michael Sam. Mills? Ok.

You keep asking some of us if it is open season on you.

First let me say that I like you and I enjoy your posts here. But when you openly share your situation of a wife and a gf you have to expect that you are going to take shots and people are going to say stuff like that around here for probably a long time.

I would just consider it playful ribbing of being a part of our dysfunctional family around here. I don't think anyone means anything bad.

Anyways just thought I would throw that out there. Have a good mothers day

I'm delighted the Rams took him...with the other talent that's going to be around him on the defensive line, he's going to have a great opportunity to succeed.

Also don't have a problem with him thinking he should have been drafted higher...hopefully it puts a chip on his shoulder and makes him compete that much harder.

Oh fuck. Sorry guys after all this I didn't realize I had Alzheimer's. Somehow I made Michael Sam the legendary Sam Mills. Between this and the Ortiz thing I need to be checked for CTE.

Yeah I get the open season and I am playing back and forth right into the wife/GF thing. It is a meme now.

Every player thinks they should have been drafted earlier unless they went #1 or were a punter or were picked by Emery.

Mills has a valid reason to think he fell because of his orientation. He may not have but it is certainly possible, if not likely considering the whole pick in the 7th round seems to have been orchestrated by the NFL as much as anything.

Many scouts have negative things to say about any player especially once you get past the second round. Even Clowney had some who said he had question marks. There are worse players who went ahead of Mills.

Mills was the defensive player of the year in the best conference in the country, and he was barely drafted, and it really seems like the NFL had a hand in it because it all seem way too convenient. There is a lot of smoke there. Now, maybe he is basically an undrafted free agent type of player. We don't know what would have happened. However, he has every right to think it hurt his draft stock.

ESPN seemed oddly fixated on the story but that doesn't mean that Mills didn't fall at least in part because of the story and media coverage around it.

Will Millsy make the team because he's gay?

Is his boyfriend a gold digger?

He may have fallen quickly in the draft, but he basically can't be cut by the Rams. He at least makes the practice squad.
