EmoCon would be quite the convention.

Sponsored by Hot Topic...maybe Saetia could do a reunion show...eyeliner sales would spike.

Not wanting to pay taxes/royalties is part of why this country was founded.

Anyone other than Chas posts that and no one says a word

I was moreso talking about the "All inclusive" thing. I could understand some segments of this country either not celebrating or not caring much about the 4th. Native Americans come to mind......wouldn't hold it against anyone else, either...

Kinda sorta, but not really. No taxation without representation. Had the colonists gotten equal representation, who knows what our history may look like. I'm not saying this would still be under British control, but it certainly would be different.

That's not what is being referenced.

Were talking about Parliamentary taxation of Colonies which had a direct effect on America declaring it's independence

USA: Making the world safe for hypocrisy for over two centuries:

Quote:
The Whiskey Rebellion, or Whiskey Insurrection, was a tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791, during the presidency of George Washington. Farmers who used their leftover grain and corn in the form of whiskey as a medium of exchange were forced to pay a new tax. The tax was a part of treasury secretary Alexander Hamilton's program to fund war debt incurred during the Revolutionary War, a power granted to the federal government in the Constitution. The farmers who resisted, many war veterans, contended that they were fighting for the principles of the American Revolution, in particular against taxation without local representation, while the Federal government maintained the taxes were the legal expression of the taxation powers of Congress.
