So unless Golic essentially bails him out on this one, Simmons is pretty much done at ESPN, right?

Golic started this dust up. Sounds like it has already been fixed though.

How so? He also took a shot at the ombudsman.

I'm a Simmons fan but everything Golic said was basically true. This was the biggest overreaction ever.

He must want to get fired or he already has plans to leave.

The better dust up is the one between Mike Francesa, & Michael Kay. Jay Mohr on Fox Sports Radio did about 20 minutes on it today & it was fucking hilarious. Francesa is one of the all time radio douchebags. Mohr is one of the best sports radio guys.

If either Golic or Simmons is considered "one of ESPN's biggest stars" that station is in trouble.

I've seen too many of these internal fights to be fooled about what is going on.

Hate Simmons all you want but it was his idea for ESPN to make 30 for 30 documentaries. Those things are damn good. If it wasn't for those there'd be fucking poker and skateboarding instead.

Not a Simmons fan but I have no problem with anything he's done that's drawn the ire of ESPN in the last 2 months. I especially support him calling out Lipsyte, who sounds like he's been doing PR for ESPN in most of his columns rather than actually acting as an ombudsman. This was especially the case with the Ray Rice nonsense.

Francesa: You know why it didn't work? Because I can't be controlled.

Hypnotist: [snaps fingers]

Francesa: Zzzzzzzzz

Can TNT trade Shaq to ESPN and receive Simmons in return?

I'm a longtime Mohr fan. He's great.
