They happen all over Darko, but the drops were epically bad yesterday. 8 of them I think. That is pretty brutal

If Claussen started every game this year the Bears maybe, maybe, have 6 wins right now.

The offense was slightly better yesterday than against the Saints. Cutler has had games earlier in the year where he was better than Claussen was yesterday.

How many games has Cutler finished with a 181 passing yards and a 77 QB rating and we thought he played well?

Did #8 and RPB go to school together? Did RPB exchange stock tips for game tickets?

What are the expectations for #8? Take the snap properly? Throw a spiral? This was a game where Trestman was really trying hard to stay in the league and other than trying to run the ball he called the same plays that haven't worked since the first half of the first Packers game.

So this isn't a shout out for #8 it is really a disguised shout out for Trestman.

:( It saddens me that Trestman's Hail Mary attempt to save his job seems to have worked on some level with a portion of the fan base.

Trestman might be and probably is a terrible coach. Too bad we cant know for sure because Jay refused to run the offense.

We know for sure that Jay is a loser though.

My Bears thoughts are insane but I take it you didn't read my Cutler thoughts the past few years. Even then I think some of the Cutler hate is misguided. This is coming from someone who spent 4 of the past 5 years hammering the guy for how he tied his shoes. Therefore I know a lot about misguided Cutler hate.

You could say it did show Jay is the problem even if Clausen isn't the answer. Clausen, by your own admission, is absolutely horrible, and yet they almost beat a team that is currently the #2 seed in the conference.

The Bears average 2.3 dropped passes a game.

Yesterday was it 7 or 8?

Highest league average per game is 5.7

He was average and lost.

He did everything people have been saying Trestman needed Cutler to do - don't turn the ball over, don't hold it too long, go through your progressions, take what the D give you - he did it all...and the offense scored 7-ish points.

Trestman's offense sucks.

Way to go, Marc, you signed your own termination form.

You're focusing on Trestman because you dont want to admit how wrong you were about Cutler and that Cutler is the problem,

Trestman's offense was fine with McCown and would have been fine yesterday without terrible drops.

Not to mention that Claussen played without the #1 receiver who pretty much bails Cutler out of an interception or two every game.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, Chief. Let's not underestimate the extent of Dr. Ken's misguided thinking when it comes to sports generally or the Bears specifically. Noisy hasn't merely been a Cutler apologist; he was also one of a few posters on this board who thought that Trestman was as good or better of a hire than Bruce Arians!

As for Cutler, it's silly to think that he's "the" problem when it's obvious that the Bears suffer from multiple fatal flaws.

I will say that Detroit played a horrible game yesterday. Filled with very, very stupid plays, and managed to overcome what should have been two killer interceptions, a killed muffed punt, a killer 4th down RITK penalty, any of which individually could have killed their chances to win and won a game that was not as close as the score indicates, telling me they just straight up bagged the Bears.

Show me a team that throws 2 RZ INT's, a turnover on their own 7, a RITK penalty on their own side of the field and still wins and I'll show you a miserable team they played against.

This would be true if the offense was responsible. Detroit tried to give the game away and the Bears offense didn't take advantage. That's no knock on #8 but it is an indictment of Trestman. Any team should be able to win a game if they get a performance like we saw from the Bears defense and ST.

2 red zone interceptions
Muffed punt recovery at the 5
5 sacks
Blocked FG
Great acting job leading to a roughing the kicker
Forcing more punts than they have in the past month

I will admit some bias. Im tired of Cutler. He's been bad. Im tired of people apologizing for him.

I thought Claussen would look awful and he didnt. That's it.

Yeah, if the Bears don't have a bunch of drops they win the game. The "what if" game goes both ways.

Once again, if Clausen is a horrible quarterback it is also an indictment of Cutler. It was the same thing with McCown.

Yeah man. Totes. I said it in the other thread, that might have been the best game the Defense has played all year (notwithstanding that Bell 17 yard  Awful) and one of the better ST games the Bears played and still they get 14 points. Woo!

We can stick to reality. The Bears almost beat the division leading Lions with Jimmy Clausen, who by all prior evidence is a horrible quarterback.

If X, Y, and Z don't happen the Bears get blown out, and if A, B, and C happen the Bears win. None of it changes what actually happened.

I was willing to entertain the idea of Trestman. I didn't find it very entertaining.
