He's lost his mind.
He just made the weird statement that the kid from Senegal's first question when he got here was "Is there food here?"

Then he he said something about learning to brush your teeth and tie your shoes are important components of playing the game of basketball.

I agree with you, Doc: I'm not sure why Bennetti is even engaging him in this mess at this point.

Brad never looks terribly pleased.

Nor does Brett, Frank or Bill.

If this is really the 3rd best team in the country, I feel pretty good about this young Illini team.

Arrow is pointing up for Illini basketball.

Interesting that Ayo was on the bench for the last 5-10 minutes. Ayo is going to be special.

Walton ends the game by calling Jason "Jim".

Perfect.
This game broadcast will be a myth by morning.

I'm pretty sure that's part of Wooden's Pyramid.

That was the most uncomfortably batshit crazy broadcast I've ever heard.

Those two are supposed to do more broadcasts. I might have to check those out.

I only caught parts of it, but that was more like performance art than anything else.

As far as basketball goes, this is the type of game the Illini haven't been able to win in five years.

Bill Walton is a national treasure and kudos to Jason for keeping it going.

If Jason ever felt cheated he never got to do games with Hawk, since he would take Hawk's spot, this should fill the void of weirdness.

Bill Walton has always been pretty annoying but he's just out of his mind now.

I'm not even sure he's even watching the game as opposed to just rambling.

I also feel like he hates Jason Benetti.

you obviously haven't heard enough Bill Walton broadcasts. I didn't like him at first, but the more you listen to him the more you appreciate him. He's actually quite funny. I've grown to join the rest of the college basketball diehards in loving Walton's style. You can't take him too seriously, he sure isn't taking it too seriously.

yep, I didn't stay up to watch the game, but I assume it was just a typical Bill Walton broadcast. All his broadcasts involve him and the play by play guy going at it, that's the bit.

I've heard plenty of Bill Walton. This had a far different edginess to it.

Some coming from Benetti as well. This wasn't the wacky Bill Walton experience.
