The funny thing about college coaching is that injuries are an excuse but then you get it held against you anyways.

I doubt you can get a better guy. He had this team going the right way and then Rice came back. I don't know if that's a criticism of Rice as much as it is of the other guys who just deferred to him.

Anyway, I wasn't happy when they fired Weber. He was never going to be the best coach in the Big Ten and he wasn't a flashy guy, but he was a decent recruiter and a good game coach. Lou Henson was never the best coach in the conference either. Now they hold days for him.

I don't know how good Darius Paul would be but they needed more bulk down low this year. He almost certainly would have helped.

Cosby sucked.

Losing Abrams really set them back this year.

I was not impressed by much of what he did with this team which has some talent. But, this whole season was a train wreck from before the start. I can't say for certain that his leadership or lack thereof didn't contribute to part of the mayhem. He can't control injuries but some of the other stuff felt like he didn't have much influence on these players.

If they are not solidly in the tourney next year, I'd likely be in favor of his dismissal.
