All is right in the college football world when Notre Dame is getting humiliated on a weekly basis.

They still have the easiest pathway to the BCS and playoff with a schedule they have 100 percent control over making. They are kind of irrelevant to the media now. I would still like to see the purple faced piece of shit Kelly on his ass for the bullshit he has allowed to go on there.

The last couple of seasons.

Depending who takes over for Kelly after this season, it may be a while before they are back again.

They played in a national championship game. Sure, they weren't competitive in that game but that seems like an indication.

They were propped up by scheduling(not weak necessarily but advantageous to them) and too much power in the BCS. This made them look like a top ten team when they clearly never were.

Yeah, it seems clear Alabama exposed that they were never really a national power recently. It's still been a couple decades.

Its strange to be a fan of a team like ND. They get treated like the Yankees with people just hating them because they exist. Yet I don't have any good memories of them winning championships like a Yankee fan would have. The hatred is so strange to me. Go hate Bama, they have been wang whipping the NCAA for the past decade.

The Kelly years can be summed up as being a quasi national power that never was quite good enough to hang with the real big teams. Good enough to win the games they should but always falling short when it counted. This season is clearly a train wreck but generally they have been good since Kelly took over.

The last time they were a national power it was when they had one of the largest cheaters in NCAA history in Lou Holtz.

College football for the past decade has been Alabama and everyone else. You know this

No.

They have top 10 recruiting classes almost every year. There are probably at least 25 coaches who could take over next year and get them to a BCS bowl.

They went into the Natl Championship Game undefeated.

They aren't Nevada or Tulane, if any major team goes undefeated they are making the final 4.

Playing in a Natl title game, under any circumstances, makes you a Natl power, IMO

Is there any team (besides ND apparently) that has played in one in the last 10 years you wouldn't consider a "national power"

That was still the BCS.

It also doesn't change what I said. Put Notre Dame in the Big Ten or SEC and they aren't undefeated that year.
