Louisville cleaning house. AD gone and Pitino almost certainly is too.

Not a shock as they need to scramble to not get the death penalty as these things happened while on probation.

I think it's too late to avoid death penalty.

This scandal caught NCAA off guard and they look really bad. The FBI didn't trust them enough to include them so the NCAA will have to act harshly to regain any shred of credibility. They found out about this when we did.

Penn State didn't get the death penalty.

All they did was assfuck some kids in the shower. They didn't take money from Adidas.

They will never enforce the death penalty again.

If this were just uncovered by the NCAA without involvement of the FBI, then I'd agree, they would punish Pitino and act like they were done.

However, the fact that this was a Federal investigation means the NCAA will act more harshly than usual. They will sacrifice Louisville to save face.

Exactly. They may not have a choice here.

Though, it likely won't be as severe as the SMU one.

As for PSU,
The death penalty would have been very difficult to enforce on them. I agree they should have punished them more than they did and been willing to fight it in court but the NCAA is primarily in the business of regulating athletic competition. The criminal stuff doesn't really fall into their control which is why the NCAA doesn't really suspend players or coaches except in rare circumstances for criminal matters.

Is this Pitino's last head coaching job in the NCAA? He is such an oily little weasel.

He's going to get a really long "show cause" order which makes him almost unhireable especially at his age.

He'll probably just hang around his kid at Minnesota.

lol, apparently the Prez and Louisville told Jurich to fire Pitino and he refused so the Prez fired both of them. That's why the Jurich announcement came out first, he was shit canned immediately after that conversation whereas the Prez needs a little time to track down Pitino and fire his ass.

The FBI is pushing charges which can bring 40-60 years. They are going to get these guys to sing on a lot of other schools and companies involved in bribery.

WMVP has had great commentary on this today.

I'll take a strong bet Matt Painter is clean. There is a reason we lose the best recruits and never get the one-and-done types. We only got Biggie because of who his adoptive father is.

Yes. They've been celebrating pretty openly since this broke. They've "lost" a lot of battles because of things like this.

I'm not sure if you follow Hammer & Rails, but they have been great on this so far. I'll say this, Purdue breaks my heart almost every Spring, but at least I know I will never wake up to what Louisville fans woke up to yesterday. We run a clean program and I can be proud of Purdue Athletics.

This Brown guy who was supposed to get the $100,000 is the guy who was thinking about coming to DePaul last spring. His coach is the guy that DePaul hired. Not that he would've come here since the other guy from the same school has since de-committed, but whatever.

At least it proves that either DePaul is clean or didn't offer enough money.
