For me the two toughest freshman college guards were Chris Jackson and Kenny Anderson. As strictly freshman phenom types I've yet to see anyone hit the scene that surpasses what they did in College.

I'm checking Young out now. Will try and catch a little more of him later in the year. The announcers are sort of letting him have it.

Great call. Not sure if it was they were freshmen but I vaguely remember them playing against each other in the tournament.

As I've been saying since November, Trae is a poor man's Steph Curry (even though he's better than Curry at the same age).


his team is starting to fall apart from the strain of one guy having the ball 80% of the time. #21, #1 and to a lesser extent #20 and #0 shoot the ball whenever they get it and it's usually some forced drive into traffic.


It's all on Lon Kruger now to see if he can figure out a way to integrate Trae's game into a team concept. So far Kruger hasn't done anything other than roll a ball out there and say go do whatever you want.

Listening to Dan Mcneil and Tim Doyle, there talking about Trae Young now, how he's got some Steph Curry and if he comes to the Bulls, will be an exciting team by next year.

No doubt. He was a great player. I just dont think he is above some others in greatest guard of all time.

He maybe the grittiest guard to ever play the college game.

Ive seen clips of Gary Payton @ Oregon.. He would rape Hurley.

You need to change your perspective. he's comfortably one of the greatest players in CBB history.

I dont think I do. He was a great player. One of the best PGs to play. That one link has him as #9 I am completely good with that.

RR had him and Jason Kidd listed as the greatest guard college has ever seen. I just dont think that is the case. He is not the greatest guard to play the game.

I guess we're saying the same thing...I thought you were saying you didn't consider Hurley to be an all time great. All those guys are all time greats.

Yeah I think we are saying the same thing. I was not intending to diss Hurley at all. He was great. It is a testament to how good Duke was at that time that Hurley was their 3rd best player.

It really is too bad that we did not get to see his real game transition to the NBA.
