Illinois St. is in regional final tonight after beating Louisville yesterday. That would be a pretty big upset if they can beat Louisville again one of the next two games to advance to the Super Regional.

Illinois State is another state program that follows suit ignoring Chicago programs players for reasons that defy logic. Michigan has 5, Iowa, Minnesota and Michigan state each have one player, as has Louisville for 6-7 years now, but Illinois UIC and Illinois state never seem to have anything other than passing interest in the city kids.

It makes it very easy to root against them for me.

Too bad UIC is not recruiting these kids, since they are back to having decent teams lately.

The two kids I know that went there, one was from Simeon (later 1st rd. pick) & the other one (2nd rd. pick) was from your alma mater. But they do grab a bunch of area kids as well.

so i flip on espn to see the wolverines an inning away from beating UCLA to go to the CWS. Now this is probably the first inning of college baseball i've watched in years but it only took me a few pitches to become absolutely livid with the umpires obviously trying to hose the wolverines out of this game.
