So have you come to grips with how stupid this thought is yet Zippy?

ESPN bracketology has 11 teams in right now...with Minnesota in the first 4 out.

There is no chance in hell that only 7 teams get in.

There's a decent chance this team finishes the conference season at 1-17.

I called it before 2020 hit. Unfortunately the writing on the wall was pretty easy to see.

DePaul has a couple of the worst dribblers I've ever seen.

My only memory of Gene Lenti was he used to have a private lunch pick up game at Alumni Hall. Gene wasn't very good, but he was small and wanted to play PG so he would only invite guys who weren't going to take his spot. He had a big time Napoleon complex. I think I only got in the game one time. I played PG and was a lot better than Gene. I didn't get invited out again.

DePaul currently has a nationally top 10 recruiting class for 2021.

Also, landed a really good transfer who will hopefully be eligible this season. Javon Freeman-Liberty from Valpo and Whitney Young. As a soph, the guard averaged 19/6 and was top 15 in the nation in steals. Was first team all conference as well as first team all conference defense.

Still got the same shitty coach though.

I watched Freeman-Liberty in the MVC. That guy is the real deal. A true difference maker.

Nice! I'm hoping that DePaul reaps an unintended benefit from COVID and a bunch of top Chicago recruits decide maybe it's just best to go to a school where they can make it back home in less than a half hour as opposed to going away and possibly getting stuck there if things go sideways.

Freaking awesome. With Illinois recruiting better, will be nice to have two state teams to root for again.

Adam Miller expected to announce today and Illinois is in the final 2. With Chin as an assistant and Ayo's success i'm fairly certain that he will be signing with Illinois.

Miller transferring.

DePaul manages to break Georgetown's 29 game conference losing streak last night.

They both need to form a conference with Chicago State.

They're awful this year, even by their standards. I usually make a point of seeking them out and watching around three games a month. I can't do it this year. In the age of the transfer portal they can turn it around in a year, we'll see what next year brings.

I admittedly hadn't been paying attention to them but how is it possible the Georgetown had a 29 game conference losing streak?

Half the team left two years ago and Ewing has been floundering ever since

I don’t follow Big East basketball very closely, but reading about that Georgetown losing streak really threw me for a loop. Wow, I fondly remember the 80’s when Georgetown, St.John’s, Syracuse, Villanova and providence, I’ll even throw in that little spurt by Seton Hall was so exciting. Georgetown falling THAT far is really outrageous. Damn.

Pitt had their moments as well, although production never matched the talent. Providence even got to a Final Four.

DePaul and St. Johns are actually putting on a good game right now. Plenty of scoring, both teams are hitting jump shots, lots of lead changes late, game into overtime.

Yes they did. They also had that stupid turnover at the end of the first overtime. My internet actually died on me just before the three at the end of regulation. I had to listen to the Zach Zaidman call on 670 to take in the rest of the game.
