There won't be any games anyway. This is just the beginning of the inevitable whittling away to nothing. Next will be a seven-game season followed by a five-game package, before the cancellation.

The Big Ten hasn't had a good football team since I was a young shaver. Leave the college game to us, fellas. God bless.

The biggest ramification to no college football outside the SEC and maybe ACC is the draft, which is going to be a total crapshoot. I remember there not being a lot of 2021 draft capital dealt away on draft day, so I think the league saw this coming and sent out a memo in the interest of maintaining some amount of fairness.

If they moved to spring teams like LSU and Bama would be missing 8-10 kids who declare for draft.

No?

Although don't see anything about venue. Probably ends up in Federal court.

if both sides are smart, they settle for Indiana paying Memphis < $500K

Cuz otherwise both sides lawyers will quickly rack up six figures each side litigating the issue. Settling removes the risk for both sides: that they'll pay to litigate and still get stuck with the bill/not get paid

I think that's the SEC talking about everyone else. There is no way that conference doesn't play. If Vandy and Kentucky want to throw a stink they can find themselves a new conference.

Their worry is that they'll have nobody to play outside the SEC for the big title games.

But they are still playing a 10 game season as of now.

Against conference opponents only so they can have standard testing among all teams.

The contract doesn't require the season to be cancelled.

Nah the SEC isn't going to play this year either. There's simply no incentive for the players, especially future draft picks, of which there are MANY in the SEC.

Why would Trevor Lawrence(I know he's not SEC) play this year? What possible incentive does he have outside of loving football?

This has been an argument for years about the top players with or without COVID.

I see some of the true elite opting out but others have done it before too.

Right, and now there's COVID. Kinda changes things in society I've noticed

Just Ohio State in the top 10 vs 5 SEC teams.

https://www.sportsbetting3.com/ncaafb/college-football-betting

Who else can break in? Michigan and Penn State are close to top 10 in recruiting, but how important is that?

Ohio State have 4 top 20 WR in 2020 class for Justin Fields to throw to!
