Not gonna happen. See you in the spring. Maybe.

What about Bowl games or the Playoffs?

It has to happen though there is a chance it does get pushed to spring.

It sounds as if the bowls are highly unlikely. The playoffs still could happen if the big conferences can work together well enough.

I'm not happy about it but I knew it was coming. Just leave the NFL alone.

Lol, bye bye to Lovie’s chance at three easy wins. Looks like ISU, UConn, and Bowling Green.

I don't see how the NCAA can play scheduled football games until they can see what happens with the NFL, so that puts them with a schedule of 6 games in November-December, 4 games in January-February, and probably no playoffs.

There just wont be college football. Maybe the SEC will go and hold a championship but no way the B1G or PAC play. The north and west are Karen Territories and Karen already hated football, she cant wait to cancel a full season of it.

The south will find its own solution.

It sounds as if the plan is to actually have the schedule have a bunch of built in make up weekends if a team can't play.

It will be absolutely devastating if a season isn't played. They will do everything they can to play a season.

You think JB Pritzker (U of I & Northwestern) or "Backdoor" Whitmer (MSU & Michigan) give a shit? Its harder for them to cancel the NFL but its very easy for them to cancel NCAA. Ohio State already plays in the kiddie pool, now you're gonna make their toughest opponent for the B1G title Minnesota (which OK it probably was anyways)?

There's no point. And like I said these women hate football passionately and want to see it banned. They wont get their way on that but they will absolutely seize the opportunity to spitefully cancel a season.

Whitmer isn't going to be the reason that MSU and Michigan won't be playing football this year. That's like 95% of the voters she needs to be re-elected.

There won't be fans in the stands but she isn't going to destroy her political career by getting rid of college football.

JB could probably do it because Northwestern will be terrible next year and no one cares about downstate people.

Yeah she doesn't care. I know its baffling from a political perspective but it doesnt matter. Those are state-funded universities and she wont have state-funded universities flaunting her edicts.

I guess we'll see. If OSU and PSU are playing football then Michigan and MSU will be.

Yeah, college football was always a very rare possibility this year. There's not enough incentive for the players and it obviously gives lie to the whole student athlete thing in a big way if the rest of the campus is empty.

NFL is enitirely different. I haven't seen anything yet that makes me think they wont play, although it looks like no preseason this year which is really just a plus.

I would assume they would get something due to Big Ten cancelling.

It sounds like a lot of these have clauses for major events causing the cancellation.

Though, the fact that Illinois is adding another home game may make it more difficult to justify that.

Rick if you're confident college football gets played this year, you'd have to be even more confident the NFL gets played, right?

No doubt. I think from the beginning I predicted the NFL would sue the government if they were being forced to shut down and win.

Though, I wouldn't say I'm confident that college football gets played this year but it will be the last resort. Schools lost like $3 million because March Madness was cancelled. Most big schools would lose double that per game if football was cancelled.

I'm liking my wager with Franky more and more.

It's a bit odd to me that I haven't heard the discussion of adding possible make up weekends into the schedule for the NFL, you would think they would do something like that if needed to ensure all the games are played.

Notre Dame's season is on the brink. No conference. No games.

The ACC would be a relative winner as ND games are valuable.

Why would they have to follow?

If them and their opponents are willing to play then play the games. They do not have to follow the Big 10
