I can't even follow the Big Ten's logic here. Why are they so slow-moving? Make a damn decision.

The late football season makes no sense unless a few other conferences do it.

Dan Patrick is reporting that if the Big 10 can pass updated safety measures (don't know what they are) they are going to start October 10th.

For me, it's second only to Arkansas remembering they're Arkansas.

I hope so. Not playing or not playing until Thanksgiving is like the Cubs of yesteryear deciding not to invest in a farm system. Just a bad idea, the stench of which will linger for two generations.

Seems better than the SEC & ACC starting in three weeks with outbreaks all over their campuses now. But it would be nice if they were open and transparent about their protocols. Perhaps even providing models for the rest of us.

I don't need to know any of that shit, just go beat the hell out of each other on Saturdays and let me gamble.

My prediction of the first week of October looking pretty good now.

(Well, besides October 10th not being the first week of October.)

It seems counter intuitive but outbreaks on campuses are GOOD. COVID is less dangerous than the flu for 19 year olds and the campus is close to being a bubble. Obviously, it's bad for those who have to physically exert themselves, like a football team.

Yes, outbreaks are FUNdamental. They are like "cases". Means nothing. So that 19 year old stud is a "case". He's still healthy and wouldn't even know he was a "case" if you didn't test him. It's all Political horse shit.

CBS FakeNews has this:
Iowa State allowing 25,000 fans at first football game despite rising COVID cases in state

Sept 12 game. Fuck the "cases". How amny Swedes on that campus?

Sounds like an unofficial revote is happening on Friday, and if that goes well then an official revote is happening on Friday. Some schools may still opt out. That list is supposedly Maryland, Minnesota, Illinois and Northwestern. It sounds like all the rest of the schools are ready to play football.

I need an SEC team to follow. 'Bama would be a logical pick on account of RAIDERS QB Kenny Stabler, but Saban wears Crocs, so that's a no-go.

Jump on the Lane Train!

This is a distinct possibility. He was the only voice in the room imploring Mr. Davis not to draft JaMarcus Russell. Can't do LSU on account of the awful purple/yellow combo. I'd say it's down to Georgia and the two Mississippi schools.

Mississippi changing the state flag makes Ole Miss the leader in the clubhouse. All aboard the Lane Train.

Illinois and Northwestern could get some MACTION in the spring in that scenario.

Phew...I was worried some real programs might opt out.

How would those programs be able to play in another conference when Nebraska and Ohio State just had their pee pee slapped when they had that idea this fall?

I think he was joking but opting out of fall football while the conference plays means they don't play at all this year.

Looks like you’ve hit your self imposed three post limit for this page. That being the case, I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you that the Big Ten sucks whistler balls.

That's odd, I heard that with their schools headed by epidemiologists, Michigan and Sparty led the charge to opt out.

Big if true. Did it have to be from Penn State though? They couldn’t get the creep doctor/trainer/whatever dude from MSU to announce it?

I watched this in real time and thought maybe the clock on the screen was wrong as Middle Tenn was letting it run down to half on second down and the announcers didn't say anything about it.
