I only watched the first 10 minutes and it was clear the Illini were flat. Looking at the box score they let them dominate the boards and the Hoosiers shot over 60%. Zero point from Mayer. It's not a horrible loss other than the fact that it was at home. Definitely need to bounce back for Ohio State and then there is a stretch of winnable games there before Rutgers comes to town. @ Iowa will be tough.

Didn't get to watch last night but was checking on my phone occasionally. Looks like coach finally put Epps in the starting lineup rather than Harris which is what needed to be done a few weeks ago.
Showed up and scored 14 points. Four in double figures but really have nothing coming off the bench which is a bit worrisome. I keep thinking Melendez is going to step it up and then I see him out there and he chucks up an unsolicited air ball or total brick from time to time. No currently ranked teams in the next 10 games. Need 6 wins to get to 20. That is usually good enough to secure a spot in the NCAAs but I'd feel better with 21 if they can get there somehow. Finish the season on the road at Purdue which is looking like an L.

Well it’s looking like if they can get to 20 wins they should secure a middle seed in the NCAAs and a first or second round exit as usual. When I start ignoring them they seem to play better and win. Hard to call a win against NU a good win but I guess they are ranked. Sounds like they had a nice comeback and didn’t give up at least.

Great energy in the building tonight, packed to the rafters. Made that Michigan 7pt lead in OT 1 evaporate VERY quickly. This team is schizophrenic.

If they just had a consistent threat from outside they’d be dangerous. It was a must win for both teams. Hopefully the Illini can win a few games in the conference tournament and have some momentum going into the big dance. Shannon is maddening at times and Mayer is streaky. Actually most impressed with the spark that Rodgers brought off the bench. Hope he stays with the program, he’s good for a freshman.

Illinois looks to be projected to be in the 8/9 game in the NCAA tournament. My recommendation would be to get blown out by Purdue this weekend, and then get blown out by Purdue in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. Fall down to a 10 or 11 seed with a better chance to make the Sweet Sixteen.
