Brick, very interesting that your boys are traveling to Fayetteville today for an "exhibition". What a great thing for both teams in front of a sold out arena.

Until March rolls around, every college basketball game is an exhibition.

We should have scheduled any easy team like Chicago State or Illinois.

Just got a Snapchat from a well-known (he's won a couple national championships) basketball coach.

Apparently, the rest of the Big Ten is freaking out after tonight's Illini game. How, they wonder, can we match the Illini's speed and defense? Will we, they ask, have an answer to Terrence Shannon, Jr.? Will it, they inquire, be possible for us to match this team's energy?

Gonna be interesting.

Yes. Teams used to do a glorified practice with another P5 team in a gym with no fans and no cameras outside of the game film for the teams. Now, they seem to be televising them similar to a spring game for charity. They don't count for record.

The top 5 AP teams all lost their exhibition games.

Just had a follow-up conversation with that coach, whose name sort of rhymes with bashefski. Concerning the Illinois-Kansas tilt, he said,

"It's like the commercials for the All-Star games ten years ago. You know, the ones where the big voice mafucker says, 'This time, it counts!' Well, that 'exhibition' counted. Impressive win for the Illini Nation, the Big Ten, the Midwest, the Great State of Illinois, East-central Illinois, Champaign County, the university itself, the three hundred or so descendants of the Illini (who I'm told are proud to have the Illini represent them), and all free peoples on this sacred, sacred earth of ours."

Ramblers are supposed to be decent but we are coming to the last few remaining players from the glory years. They have been portal intensive and I just don't know these guys.

Would be nice if the money really goes to charity. It's good exposure for a lot of teams, and probably a good way for teams to get things right against a decent opponent early on.

Illinois will need it. They have a Fozzie of a bear of a pre-season (that is, non-Big Ten) schedule this year.

I do know that the charity designated for the game were the tornado victims or storm victims from earlier this year in Arkansas.

Yeah, that was kind of cool. It's a good trend, and it seems win-win for all involved.

Kansas and Kentucky was a fun watch last night. I hate both teams, but they are good. Seeing the big goof from Michigan in a Kansas uniform is really odd.

great double header tonight.

Purdue vs Tennessee
Kansas vs Marquette

All 4 are ranked in the top 7. 1,2,4 and 7 for a total composite ranking score of 14.

I doubt the actual F4 has a lower overall composite ranking score than that.

Purdue did look good.

Surprised that IU beat Louisville. Not sure what to make of them for this season. Probably mid pack in the Big 10 trying to squeeze into the tournament.

Watching the Purdue/Tennessee game. They had a wide shot of the benches. I counted 7 coaches on the Purdue bench and another 5 (I assume) grad assistants sitting right behind them. Tennessee had 6 and 5. WTF? How many coaches does a basketball team need? Good use of taxpayer money.

Having read this, and then watching the teams shake hands, was hilarious
