Marvin Harrison needs a better nickname when he's playing for the Bears.

Wow.

Well, The Game lived up to its reputation. Not an all-timer, but a great game nonetheless.

You live with throwing a pick in the direction of, future Bear, Marvin Harrison.

That was a good game and is exactly the type of game that will be destroyed when college football moves to a larger playoff format.

Yup.

Let's ruin what makes college football special.

Mods merge this thread into the Football 2023 thread. I can't read. It's probably Tommy's fault. LTG was too young to be an educator.

Jimmy Harbaugh can come to Chicago now and bring MHJ with him

The balck guy, Moore, won this game. Captain Comeback is a known bed wetter, even when he is cheating.

Ohio State would be daft to dump Day at this point, unless they have somebody lined up already who they think can go 40-0 against the rest of the Big 10 besides Michigan and make the final four playoff thing, what, 3 out of 4 years? and counting....

still a chance tOSU sneaks in again this season. IF Bama beats Georgia (possible) and Oregon beats Washington (likely, washington barely beat 2-7 in the conf Wash St yesterday) then you have a bunch of 1 win teams and only Michigan/FSU undefeated

Bama beats GA and Ducks beat Huskies, and Michigan and FSU hold serve and stay undefeated:

Undefeated Michigan
Undefeated FSU
???
???

Oregon, Bama, Texas, OSU and Georgia all sitting just outside the playoff with 1 win
????

Who do you put in out of that group? Bama over Georgia cuz conf champs? But then Bama lost to 1 win Texas

a 1 win Oregon likely gets one of those slots, conf champs and all.

So that leaves Bama-Texas-Georgia all spiderman memeing each other

Committee might just say fuck it and move Ohio State back into the top 4 to avoid Texas bitching about Alabama being in when the Longhorns beat the Tide in Tuscaloosa (iirc).

It was a down year for the SEC. Georgia likely ends up with 2 wins against top-10 teams (end of the season rankings): Missouri and Ole Miss maybe takes Penn State's slot in the top 10 in the final poll.

Notre Dame and Penn State were both ranked in the top 10 when OSU beat them, but neither seems likely to finish the season there.

Georgia's schedule weak sauce. UT Martin and Ball State and UAB? What's that shit. And then 2 win Vandy. Below .500 Florida and SC teams. .500 or thereabouts GA Tech/KY/Auburn wins for Georgia.

Unless Georgia's been holding back waiting for the SEC championship game to play their best ball they haven't looked all that great down the stretch. Just doing enough to win.

Best thing for the committee would be for Georgia to beat Bama and Washington beat Oregon. Then you have 4 undefeated conf champs.

Iowa beats Michigan and Oregon over Washington and Bama over Georgia, hell yeah

Why?

Buckeyes and Wolverines were scrappin' for a place at the CFP table yesterday. If that game were next year, same teams, same records, same rankings, what's at stake? Whether Michigan or Ohio State is #2 behind Georgia? while the other team still easily makes the expanded playoff format next season and beyond....at least that's what folks are complaining about i think. Top 4 ranked teams do get a first-round bye, so that's something i s'pose.

That game would haven been deep in the playoffs and mattered more. Use your 4d brain.

Post subject:  Re: Ohio State @ Michigan

sure, but having yesterday's game be fucking meaningful while students are still on campus and we're not all tits deep in holiday bs increased energy/excitement/attention on that game vs a playoff game played either a few days before christmas when campuses are empty and other things distract. or new year's weekend when ditto

but it hasn't happened yet, maybe it'll be great.

Folks don't think tOSU will be stupid and fire him but apparently life the last 2 years in Columbus hasn't been great for Day and his family, who insanely stay in the unlivable hilljack-infested and serial-killer-producing state that is Ohio year-around. Possible Day himself says "fuck all y'all hillbillies ( and future serial killers )" and bugs out on his own for the San Diego or Bears job. Among his 3 kids, his oldest started high school in Columbus this year, plays QB, already recruited by Boston College.

We're drafting that guy too. He won't have the same issue that a healthy Christian Watson has.

Despite being open frequently, he doesn't have a quarterback who can get him the ball.

How do you work on timing when you can’t stay on the field?
