Well, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly wasted little time after Saturday's win over BYU telling NBC Sports' Alex Flanagan that QB Everett Golson will start Saturday night at Oklahoma after sitting out due to recovering from a concussion in the OT thriller over Stanford the week before.

That being said, Golson & the guy who started this past Saturday, Tommy Rees, have a common bond. BOTH of Notre Dame's quarterbacks are turnover-prone.

Reality check? has there been a ND fan here that has said they could hang with Bama?

Gonna need a HUGE effort from the D and clock killing ball control offense AND a couple unexpected turnovers.

If that happens, they might hang with Oklahoma.

And they'd likely score against Alabama

I think it was ESPN/ABC's Kirk Herbstreit who mentioned this about Notre Dame's chances about participating in the BCS Championship Game in Miami this January. Herbstreit, who will call Saturday night's ND/Oklahoma game on ABC with the ageless Brent Musburger & sideline reporter Heather Cox, believes that it's not just the Irish continuing to win that's important. He also believes that other schools have to lose along the way that are ahead of ND.

For all you gamblers, ND is a 10 1/2 point underdog against Oklahoma. Will they cover?

I believe they will. I also believe that number will rise to 13 by game time.

Really??? You think the line will move up that much?

I saw the number and I agree ND should cover. I'm just hoping Golson can play all four quarters. Extremely nervous if the Rees-Hendrix two-headed monster sees significant playing time.

It seems like the tv story I hear is how ND will keep up/stop Oklahoma which leads me to believe the line will be pushed up.

Oklahoma D is nothing to fear and I think ND D will be good enough to hold them under 30.

Considering they are going to win, I think you are safe taking the points.

I will be on Oklahoma this game, not a believer in the Fighting Irish yet.

Nice phantom hold on that touchdown by the Belldozer. The guys broadcasting went through damn near every OU player trying to figure out which one the hold could possibly be on since none of them looked to be holding.

You must be listening to a different broadcast. Herbstreit clearly said it was an obvious hold/takedown, but the problem was that the flag came so late. Which it did.

And then there was either no announcement from the ref or the mics aren;t working right.

Well I guess they say what is good for Notre Dame is good for College football.

So you didn't see the takedown on any of the 16 replays?

It was a football play.....totally legal.

Did NIU pull out a W? There were down 14-7 early the only time I checked the score.

Oh yeah. They were down 4 at half but started the 2nd half on a 28-0 run. WMU got a couple cheapies at the end to make it look respectable.

Side note: WMU has a pretty impressive stadium/facilities for a MAC team.

....aaaaaaaaaaaand replay #17 clearly showed the hold, the flag coming from the head ref right away, and both announcers agreed it was definitely a penalty.

I went to a game at Waldo stadium 10 or so years ago when they were playing CMU. It was a fun time even though I knew nothing about either team.

I'm glad OU forgot they were killing ND with shorts throws and started to run for no good reason. Hope they don't remember at the half.

Where is IB? I want him to come back and tell us how ND's defense isn't that good and they've just gotten lucky by having 8 favorable matchups in a row.

Next 3 games should be gimmies. Unfortunately, USC lost again so that won't be as huge if ND beats them.

They could go undefeated and still not make the championship.

And a really stupid play by the reciever. He should have let it drop to the ground and they do not lose the yardage, but I am sure it was just instinct, would be real hard to not catch it.
