Just watched Indiana destroy Illinois tonight. First time I have watched Illinois for an extended stretch this year.

Good god their D is just awful, it is like they are not even trying. And on offense they just come down and jack up the first long jumper they can find.

Gotta think Groce's days are numbered.

Just making a statement today.

They will not be denied.

I think this tourney run will be ESPN's first 50 for 50 special.

I think he keeps Groce for another year.

They are paying a lot of football coaches a lot of money for the next year or two. He can live with one more year of Groce while everybody is paying attention to the football team.

When the day comes to replace Groce, this AD looks like the type to get an established name versus looking in the upcoming coaches ranks.

Checked on the game at halftime and was thankful I didn't waste my time watching much of it. Pretty embarrassing.

Groce is done. The only problem for Illini fans is that his replacement may be even worse due to the chaos that is reigning presently at the U of I.

I watched the second half of the Indiana game. Horrible. Only saving grace was that Thorne got some extended playing time to shake off some rust. Before yesterday's debacle BPI had Illinois at #116 below SIU, NIU, Belmont, Akron, San Diego State, and Oakland (Horizon). And Chicago State, whom they finally beat at the buzzer, is ranked #331 out of 351... Illinois is now 2-10 against the top 100 in BPI. Part of me wants Groce gone. The rest of me fears what who follow him.

The Lovie Smith thing kind of fell in his lap and he didn't really have to talk to others about him. Unless he is going to also get Thibs then he needs to wait.

He's been a pretty bad coach for the Illini. Injuries aside, they show no leadership, heart, or competitiveness and completely lack the ability to perform basketball fundamentals and play defense. Groce should be fired. We will see if Whitman's got the balls to follow up that radio interview last week with an ax.
