Illinois players and head coach John Groce acknowledged that the little mistakes hurt the team at the end, but Groce thought this was something that his team needed.

I think they'll do a little better than that, but probably not much.

Luckily it is mostly a down year in the Big Ten. There may only be three really good teams and then there is always MSU who suddenly goes from DePaul to Duke in the span of a couple months every year.
