Look at the bright side, Dr Ken.

Just imagine how much Beckmann is going to accomplish with these 15 extra practices.

Looks like someone wants Beckman to stay.

Nope. Not an Onion article, Dr. Ken.

Just saw David Haugh wants Beckman to stay.

I love how the non-Onion article talks about the program being at rock bottom after they just finished their first back-to-back Bowl victories ever.

That wasn't good enough but getting a team bowl-eligible after three years constitutes "building something".

I'll give him one thing though, the guy is super smart. In his post-game yesterday he said

"This program isn't about me, it's never gonna be about me"

The worst part is that the Illini are throwing seasons away like the Cubs. I mean, there's a real window of opportunity here with just a decent team. The Big Ten is historically atrocious. It won't be this way forever. Michigan will get good again. It's a miracle what Penn State has done post child rape already. They'll be a powerhouse again. Nebraska will transition into the league and be strong as they always have been. Right now you've got Ohio State and that's about it. I don't even think Michigan State is good except they get to pound all these other bums. So it's sad to see these middle/lower teams like Illinois, NU, and Purdue wasting these seasons when they could be doing something if they were even marginal. The Illini are bowl eligible for God's sake! This is a brutal team.

Rumor has it that Mike Thomas met with Beckman today to discuss a contract extension.

WINT.

Illinois would be foolish not to go after Bo.

Yeah, it's happening.

Kinda has to if you're keeping him for next year. I don't think it means much.

The guy saved his job by beating a PSU team that was handing the game to them and still needed a last second field goal to win and an NU team that had no QB and still scored 33 points.

They are going to play Marshall in a bowl game and lose 55-13 and the offseason will be a joke.

I was thinking the same thing, though Purdue has some work to do to even start thinking we could compete.

We're basically zombie programs who just kind of exist with no real hope of major victories but the coaches are doing just enough to keep their jobs. All the while, you have Nebraska who fires a guy who would literally be a legend at any of our schools based on his results there.

At least we have some hope in basketball.

It's the opposite in basketball. The Big Ten is as good as it's ever been. You can have a damn good team and finish near the bottom.

Winnable game for the Illini with LT continuing the suspensions of all those players.

Beckman is going to come out of this season in pretty good shape

They will lose and they will lose very, very badly.

This is a horrible football team that lucked into 6 wins by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I think Illinois is making a mistake here. It's going to be a crowded market for new coaches next year in the Big Ten. Illinois, Purdue, and Indiana are likely looking for new coaches. Northwestern probably should be but Fitzgerald is probably unfireable. He may be tired of dealing with it though and he may go find another job to get out ahead of it.

I don't think Tech is better than Western Kentucky and even less so with the suspensions

They didn't have much business winning that game.

They were losing at home going into the 4th and they currently aren't playing as well now as they were then.

They will not win this game and it won't be very close.
