Post subject:  Would you veto this trade?
I'm in a 10 team standard non ppr league. Draft was yesterday. After a long negotiation today, I made the following trade. One person in our league is really pissed off and says the trade is total bullshit and is crying on FB and the league discussion board about it. Nobody else in the league seems to give much of a shit either way. What do you guys think? I posted the two team rosters for further info.

I gave him Russell Wilson, Langford, and John Brown, and I am getting back Rivers, Lacy, and Watkins. Thoughts?

Why does he think it's unfair?

On the surface, the trade seems fine.

His complaints haven't really been specific. The only thing I could glean from his comments is that he thinks it's a total bullshit trade and that I got the better end of it. I'm actually not sure how I feel about it since I had Lacy last year and it was awful.

Then it just seems like he's complaining to complain.

Does your league have a vote to approve trades or is it strictly by Commissioner approval? Maybe he was vetoed in the past and is just looking for some revenge?

We did the same league last year with almost the exact same people and he complained a lot then too. Never had one of his trades vetoed. We have it up to a vote this year and I'm sure it's going to be accepted, I just figured I'd get some feedback here since he made such a big deal about it.

Yeah, trade is fine.

I was in a league once where the commissioner put himself as the sole ruler on these things (I think this was the 2nd year of the league)... I don't remember the exact details, so I will have to update it to today's players, but basically there was a trade of Julio Jones for Devin Funchess. The commissioner vetoed the trade (quite rightly) and then the next day he got Julio Jones for Tavon Austin.

I really don't like stopping trades from going through. The only rule I ever implemented was if you trade a guy, you can't have him back on your team that year. That was to prevent colluding bye week trades But sometimes you do have to step in if it is completely imbalanced... usually though the people on the wrong end of those trades dont come back the next year.

Lacy didn't do anything last year and Watkins is very good when he plays. That's the problem.

I actually thing you got hosed on it with what you gave up. I'm thinking Lankford is going to have a good year as the Bears featured back. There were many weeks with Forte out he was one of the top 2 or 3 backs for points. I'd rather have Wilson over Rivers as well.
