What's the best choice this week? Seattle at home beating Miami?

Cardinals beating up on Jimmy Pastafalo and the Pats?

In a pool with 70 others...pot should be well over 2k to a single winner.

This may sound silly, but I tend to try to pick games I can watch without having to reply on a sports ticker at the bottom on the screen or a web tracker. So out of the 7 games that our market is getting, that's where my choices will be...at least for the first week.

That makes sense.

Take the Texans over the Bears. Bears are gonna be trash this year.

I don't ever go against the Bears....even when I play confidence picks, I'll have the Bears as a +1 to win.

My best advice is always pick a home team. Probably one favored by a lot, but so many times people lose because GB was a -8 on the road at Atlanta and somehow Atlanta won 21-20.

if it's not against the spread (cuz "it's going to be closer than the experts think" - lee corso) i'd take houston over the bears (who can do better than 6.5... you know, hang around long enough to ultimately break your heart in the 4th quarter, with or without a connor barth baptism by fire)

even tho i think the bears will be "[better] than the experts think" i still think it's gonna take a game or two for the overall interia to get going to wildcardville.

btw, i always love it when lee corso drops that line because he totally outs himself as not being an "expert"

Don't take the Eagles. They might be the worst team in the NFL.

You only to pick 17 teams. You never need to use the Eagles.

I went with Seattle. I'm going to make the safest pick in week one, and hope a bunch of people make wild picks and lose.

I would stay away from KC. They always seem to struggle with San Diego and Rivers.

I've never lost by a point in confidence pool, so while yes I've failed, it's not because of my +1 on the Bears. I LOVE my team. Money and contests can come and go. I'd feel silly if I rooted for some reason against my team...unless it was near the end of the season and they had a chance at the #1 pick in next year's draft.

I mean Eye of the Tiger is a classic, but for my money Burning Heart from the Rocky IV soundtrack might be their seminal work.

That's BS...our league allows you to pick as late as Sunday. If you choose a Thursday game, fine, but you don't have to.

79 entries in one league, 47 in another.

In the 79 team league, I have two teams...I went with Seattle (whew!) and AZ ( )
Buyback in this league so I'm down to 3 left.

In the 47 team league (one and done), I made a mistake and chose SF...I for sure knew they would get their asses handed to them by Gurley...who knew the exact opposite would occur?

i know my reputation around here precedes me and all that, but if anyone wants to tell me where i was wrong here (outside of the spread) i'd really appreciate it!

* waves at the spotlight that just came on him *

yeah originally i was also going to say that taking the packers in a str8up (read: no betting lines) survivor pool would also be a solid play, cuz i didnt buy into jacksonville beating them in week 1. it was close, but hey i woulda been right with that one too.

btw this week the 1 game that really stands out is the RAMS OVER THE SEAHAWKS. YOU'D THINK todd gurley would have to have some kind of amazing afternoon (killing a lot of clock in the process) to beat the seahawks with that shitty QB/WR system ("i know, let's think up another gimmick play to get it to tavon austin!) but seriously, do not underestimate seattle's ability to suck! HONEST! I'VE BEEN SAYING LA ALL DAY!!!! IF YOU RAM IT JUST RIGHT YOU CAN RAM IT ALL NIGHT!!! LET'S RAM IT!!!!! (and btw eric dickerson is a fucking BITER! he stole walter's schtick!)

so yeah if you thought i said otherwise you're dead wrong! rams were always going to roll seattle.... DUH!

JUST RAM IT!

Forgot to make my pick last week. You get the away MNF team by default. Looks like all three of my entries move on!
