My draft isn't for a few more weeks.

Big on the Falcons this year, eh? I bought into the Matty Ice hype last year, and while he came on toward the end of the season, I ended up riding Ryan Fitzpatrick for most of the first half of the season. I've read where the new O-coordinator will open things up for their passing game, but they said the same thing last year, especially after the Falcons' huge offensive output in the 3rd preseason game vs. PIT. Need to see it first. I love the WRs, though, and White did lead the league in looks last year, and Jones is a homerun hitter, no doubt. It all comes down to Ryan, and no offense, but I'm skeptical.

Who else was available when you took Richardson? With that offense, it seems like a reach, especially since I have a "no Browns" edict given how bad I expect their offense to be.

Why draft 3 QBs? Do you get to start 2?

Defense way too early IMO.

Had my 20 team keeper non PPR draft last night. As defending champ I was in the fun position of drafting #20. Not entirely happy with my team compared to how I did last year, but I think I did good enough to extend my streak of playoff appearances to 4 (every year the league has been around).

My big decision was drafting Deangelo Williams with the 21st pick. I wanted to grab another receiver, but wasn't too happy with the selection. Bowe, Britt and Steve Johnson were the next WRs to go off the board. As for RBs I coudlv'e had Stewart, Helu, Donald Brown or Greene instead of Williams.

Towards the later round I used the same strat of last year and took as many defenses as I could. While others were trying to gamble and win on sleepers I went with taking defenses with the plan of using them as trade chips during bye weeks. Last year I traded 3 defenses for 3 quality position players who either started for me or were capable backups. I figure, why waste my picks trying to guess who will be the diamond in the rough when I can let others do the picking for me and then just trade for those guys later in the year?

It worked cause I already made a deal where I traded Carolina defense and a 7th rounder next year for Scott Chandler and a 3rd rounder next year.

Here is my team after the draft...

QB: Brady (keeper)
RB: McFadden (Keeper)
RB: Deangelo Williams
WR: Andre Johnson (keeper)
WR: Vincent Jackson
WR: Nate Washington
TE: Tony Gonzalez
K: Robbie Gould
D: Detroit

Bench:
Hasselbeck (QB)
Damian Williams (WR)
Dezmon Briscoe (WR)
Legarett Blount (RB)
Kendall Hunter (RB)
NY Giants
Washington
Carolina (since traded for Scott Chandler TE and 3rd round pick)

Definitely not as strong as last year when I had Marshall, Welker and Sproles, but those 3 all went top 10 this year which shows how well I drafted last year.

I had no idea. Is he hurt or suspended?

This is the price you pay for doing absolutely no research which, by the way, is still a bargain price to pay in exchange for not wasting any time doing research.

EDIT: YOu just trying to fuck with me? He played this weekend and caught a pass and should be fine for regular season.

I know your league is a dynasty/keeper league, Shakes, but wow, I need to do some homework. I've never heard of 2 of the guys on your bench: Dezmon Briscoe and Damian Williams.

Not a lot of faith in Locker, eh? What other QBs are out there in the event you need one but Hasselbeck isn't playing?

What's the turnover like in this league? How do you handle it when someone leaves and another owner joins? Do they inherit that roster? I've always found this type of league intriguing. Very hardcore. Nice work winning that bitch last year.

I read that Locker struggled a bit so I grabbed Hasselbeck, but there are no other QBs available if Brady is on a bye. Have to wait for someone to get hurt or lose their job. I have #1 waiver priority so I'm in a good spot for that. Matt Moore is probably available, I might go grab him.

Even though it started as a free yahoo league we've had very little turnover. At most 3-4 teams are new a season and they inherit the roster and are not allowed to trade future draft picks their rookie year.

Yea, its quite hardcore. We all consider it a man's league and anything with less than 20 teams is for girls. You really have to draft well and make great pickups and follow the deepest parts of the box score throughout the season in order to do well.

Its a lot of fun, I highly recommend it. Its a lot more challenging than your normal 10-12 man league.

No prob, it wouldn't have surprised me if he was hurt. I didn't realize until 30 seconds ago he was playing for tampa and not San Diego. I drafted him cause I liked his chances with Rivers at QB.

SHARK Sports is reporting it.

It was the second item after the death of Joba Chamberlain.

For a 10 team league your team looks pretty shitty. Great at QB and TE, very weak at WR and a huge question mark at RB with MJD's status up in the air.

MJD has already stated he will not miss a regular season game. I have 5 starting running backs...
Thomas, Bowe, and Jackson will all have 1,000 yard seasons.

Good luck with Darren McInjured and DeAngelo Blows.

We'll see about that...
There are 3 WRs worth taking above round 4. After that they are interchangeable.

Considering you are in a 10 team league I would say you have 1.5 starting RBs. Fred Jackson is a great pickup, no complaints there. I give you .5 for MJD depending on whether or not he comes back...and even if he does he will have missed all of training camp which puts him in a similar spot as Chris Johnson last year and we all saw how his season went.

Shonne Greene is a bum, if he's starting for you in a 10 team you are in big trouble. Redman is a stop gap till Mendehall gets back and that team doesn't get a ton from its RBs anyway. Mark Ingram? Surely you are joking when you call him a starter. He's in a 3man committee and Sproles was the big winner in that group last season.

Your receivers are mediocre at best for a 10 man league and that's being kind.

Not sure why you would gamble on MJD and his holdout when you could've just let him be someone else's problem and instead took an elite WR in that spot or a more stable RB.

As for my team, I'm in a 20 team league and I still might have a better team than your 10 team roster.

12 Team PPR. Six for QB TD's. My keepers were Brady and Mike Wallace. Sadly, I didn't have a viable option after Wallace. Bad year. I'll add a kicker when the season starts.

1 Brady
2 Wallace
3 Cruz
4 Harvin
5 Green-Ellis
6 Hillis
7 David Wilson
8 Donald Brown
9 Jacquizz
10 Jared Cook
11 Pead
12 Lance Moore
13 Daniels
14 Jon Baldwin
15 Quick
16 Locker
17 Seattle

If you ladies are going to have an 8 team league you should at least start 2 QBs to make it somewhat interesting. For one thing, it levels the playing field a bit for those 4 teams that don't get an elite QB. It also forces you to actually manage the position all season as opposed to simply putting your stud QB in every week except 1. With 16 starting QBs instead of 8 you also force teams to make moves during bye weeks or have to decide whether or not they want to keep a 3rd QB on the roster at the expense of some depth at a different position.

As for your team itself, looks good, but who can really tell in an 8 teamer since every team should be loaded.

12 Team Keeper League

-I know my first pick but can't remember the actual draft order. I lost my sheet in a drunken haze.

-This season is a throwaway/rebuilding year for me. I had Payton Manning as a keeper last year (and dropped him when he went on IR and was questioning whether he would have to retire) and was pretty drunk during the 2011 draft so things didn't go all that well. I picked up Cutler to use him for, hopefully, trade bait down the line as some GM's skipped the QB position all together in a bit down the draft line. I don't think I'm in for a good year, but we will see.

1 -QB Aaron Rodgers
WR - Jeremy Maclin
WR DeSean Jackson (Keeper)
WR - Dwayne Bowe
RB-DeAngelo Williams (Keeper)
RB-Shonne Green
TE-Dustin Keller
DEF- K.C. Chiefs
Kicker- Ryan Succop.

Bench
RB- Mike Tolbert
RB-Toby Gerhart
RB-Dexter McCluster
WR-Michael Crabtree
RB - Ryan Williams
QB-Jay Cutler
