Random thought:

In standard Yahoo! leagues (FG% FT% 3PM PTS REB ASSISTS BLCKS STLS TO), I'm wondering if the key to winning is just grab as many scoring point guards as you can. Since they have the ball in their hands so much, you are likely to do well in at least five categories: FT%, 3PM, PTS, ASSISTS, and STLS.

I didn't draft this way, but it just so happens that I've ended up with a roster heavy on scoring point guards, and I am doing quite well. I find that my success is directly attributed to the contributions the point guards are giving me in those five categories, all of which I've rarely lost to someone else. FG% and TO will suffer, but if you can dominate five categories in a nine category league, you're likely to have success.

I like getting some power forwards that also shoot well from the free throw line. You can dominate PTS, FG%, REBS, BLKS, and FT%. You also keep your turnovers down. PGs usually turn the ball over a ton, and can really hurt your FG% numbers as well.

PGs do indeed turn it over a lot, and FG% will probably suffer. But it seems much more difficult to find the type of player you're talking about. My approach has been to concede TOs and just find people who can do well in most other categories.

I would suggest buying a crystal ball and drafting players don't won't have season ending injuries.

Striking gold in the late rounds sometimes is enough to offset an injury to your stars. I haven't been able to do that lately.

Bigfan's secret is to auto draft as many guys who are out of the league as possible.
