I can't wait. Starcraft probably is my favorite game of all time though I haven't played in a long time.

Oh, ok... ...thought you meant something else with that...

...but I'm on the fence...so many other good games I want to play, and I generally gravitate more towards the story side of a game versus the multplayer...and I have absolutely nothing invested in the story of this game.

Blizzard is pretty good about having their games be able to run on lesser hardware. Turning off all the effects and bells and whistles usually allows their games to run pretty good on most machines.

I haven't played a RTS in quite some time, and like Zack I am pretty sure my computer will explode after it even sees the box.

Yeah, but Zach's still using an Apple II.

Played my first match last night. Terran vs. Terran match-up against someone probably slightly more skilled than me - but that may not be saying much as I am not that great. Game looks great and plays exactly like the original. Tech trees are a bit different and some different units that I was trying to grasp what they were exactly. The biggest change is the terrain and how you can use it to your advantage.

I amassed my first set of troops and sent them out on patrol to the middle of the map - when I was distracted by a bunch of SCVs standing around doing nothing. I put them to work when I hear "Nuclear Launch Detected". Oh shit. Look around and finally realize its my 30 marines standing in the middle of the map because I left them hanging out there. D'oh! Wasn't able to move them in time - such a noob. I build some more marines and keep sending them out while I work on building my Battlecruisers. Turns out the Terrans have some mech robot thing that is pretty bad ass. My opponent was sending these guys at me and we had some good skirmishes. I finally got about 7 Battlecruisers built and sent them out. Found his base and destroyed a good part of it but didn't wipe him out. This has all transpired over an hour and 15 min or so and the wife was wanting me to help her with something so I just surrendered the game to him.

First thoughts are its exactly like the original with updated graphics and new units. But there is more strategy now with the terrain. I like it, but don't love it. I'll play some matches with Zerg and Protoss yet and see how they play before I make final judegements.
